When to not use contraception?

How long into a relationship do you think it is acceptable to stop being so reliant on contraception, not necessarily trying for a baby but deciding that you've been together long enough to not use it every time?

Whenever you guys are ready to potentially have a baby since the odds of that happening with unprotected sex increases a lot
