Where are you on the Kinsey Scale? Sorry, GAG won't allow 7 choices, so I couldn't include asexual. ?

I was surprised to learn that in 2015 over 30% of Americans under 30 identified as something other than straight, and it was only sightly less for those 30-40. Those young people would be under 35 and under 45 today. Even more surprising, a full 49% of 18-25 year old Brits identified as other than straight. So I was wondering how GAGers (who were willing to take a poll) compared. Even more surprising to me, "Asked if it was conceivable that they could be attracted to a person of the same sex "if the right person came along at the right time," 16 percent of "straight" Americans said it was "not impossible," 7 percent said "maybe," and 4 percent said they could "definitely" be attracted to somebody of the same sex." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale https://slate.com/human-interest/2015/08/half-of-young-brits-not-heterosexual-says-yougov-poll.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/08/24/one-third-of-millennials-now-say-theyre-less-than-100-straight/

Superb Opinion
  • I would say 2. I've always been attracted to men, I want to be in a relationship with one but at the same time I'm curious about the idea of having sex with another woman. If I ever have this opportunity, I might take it.
However, I'm not sure if I would date a woman...
The results that you presented are indeed surprising.

    • Especially that 49% of young Brits, and the 16% of straight Americans numbers.

    • Exactly. I guess it's because this was done with young people. Usually older people are more strict when it comes to their sexuality.

    • So you are by definition bisexual

    • What is ace? is it asexual?

  • 1 Predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual

    • I think the yougov numbers are wrong because according to them more women identify as 100% straight (0 on the kinsey scale) than men, that's totally false, i think most people in general (men precisely) are totally straight even though I'm not 100% straight myself.

    • I'm not seeing that. Were is that breakdown by gender? The Washington post article I gave the link to has a graph that says the opposite. Besides, since society is far far less accepting of male bisexuality, they are much less likely to be out. I've got surprisingly negative responses on the subject he on GAG. Woman Most woman saying they would not date a bi man. On the other hand, guys would jump at the "opportunity" to date a bi woman.
