  • While Laci Green has a lot of good things to day, in this instance, she's wrong. Hymens DO stretch, but they also typically tear or "rupture". A hymen is normally a thin, semi-elastic ring of skin around the entrance to the vagina "hole" that closes the entrance of the hole down to a much smaller diameter. While smaller objects can often still be inserted, because the hymen can stretch a bit, larger objects will exceed the hymen's ability to stretch, and as more force is applied, the hymen will tear.

The thing is that different girls have different hymens, and so the experience can be vastly different for each girl. Some have minimal hymens to being with, and don't have tearing or pain. Some have thick hymens that cause lots of pain or even need to be surgically removed or penetration is virtually impossible. Laci Green's video is wrong and misleading on this point.

    • I agree. In my previous comment, when I referred to a hymen being forced through too roughly, my intention was to indicate the often common possibility of stretching to the point of tearing. Having said that, "break" and "pop" are still wrong terminology to use, in my opinion, rooting my care to mannerly notify. You're correct on the varying "coverage," thickness, and shapes of hymens, but severe cases that require surgical relief are a topic that deserve their own dedication. The video, as I see it, is a fair handling (though not complete) for the limited amount of time it is presented in - especially considering that most casual YouTube viewers are only willing to sit for approximately 3 to 4 minutes each video.

  • The first time can be painless, or it can hurt: every girl is a bit different. Here are a few drawings:

(and the hymen can have been broken in an innocent way , by accident, years before.

  • It's your hymen that broke, it's perfectly normal. A first time often hurt because to that.

    • maybe i'm wrong, but i thought the hymen was higher up?

    • oh...I didn't really get the location then. If you bled there it probably mean that he penetrated you to hard. It happens when you force the entrance. (which is something wrong) This guy should have take his time

    • Just a note, the hymen does not "break," it stretches (which can be done too roughly, resulting in bleeding and pain).

  • I would suggest seeing your gynecologist. He or she will give you a lot better advice medically then any of us can while inspecting the concerned region.

  • it never really should, even first time.
