White culture = thin, black culture = thicc?

This isn't meant to be a racist question, it's an experiment. My mother and friend are both white, but feel insulted when called thicc. I think it's silly, because personally I find that most attractive. I live in a black neighborhood though, and was also the only white girl in my middle school, and they LOVE thicc. Is this really true for the most part? Asking girls and guys.

  • What the fuck? No love for Asians huh?

I think it is because genetically, black women are thicker than the other races. Black women have mind blowing curves. Plus, culture also has an influence. Different countries have different image of an ideal body. Most of the Hollywood (and advertisements & magazines) is dominated by the white people and they push the state of being a slim women a lot and maybe that's why white women tend to prefer and get that figure one way or the another.

At the end of the day, these all are just stereotypes, generalisations and myths. I've seen white guys lusting for curvy women, I've seen black guys falling for slim petite women. Everyone is different with different preferences.

Personally, I prefer curvy women regardless of the race. Thin is also fine, but curvy ones are the clear winners.

    • Haha, sorry man. And yes, I've noticed their curves and they're like a huge distraction all the time. Curvy where it at. Thanks for this, 100% accurate I like your opinion.

    • Thanks jailbait :D

  • I don't think it matters what "culture" I grew up in I'd still take a curvy pin up girl over a skinny runway model type.

It's not a black/white thing.. it's where you live and what you were brought up in.

But YES... women in different cultures take things opposite (thick is a negative in the minds of suburban white women and a comment for inner city girls). Half my family still live in the ghetto and half live in suburbia and the think/act and respond differently to the same comments/things.

On a Side not the suburban girls have careers and No kids until mid 30's while the ghetto cousins all had "Multiple" kids in their late teens/early 20's and never could support them.

    • By culture, I mean the main type of people you grew up with. You can grow up in Asia but be Hispanic, but you'll still have grown up in that for example Korean culture. Its just the majority is that, and really if you're white chances are you grew up a lot differently than if you're black. I'm not following stereotypes, this is actually first hand observation. Although I guess its more American white and black culture haha wasn't thinking about that. And yeah, that's why I said culture and not just your actual race. I'm curious about why area's are different and if they really are so different. Yeah, that's probably true with what you said, but honestly I prefer to hang out with people who've grown up in the black or Hispanic culture. They're a lot more chill and cool, and I relate more. Plus people who've grown up in the white culture tend to be very ignorant and angry when I point it out.

  • What does this even mean?

    • I've seen white people say they're thick or call others thick but when I was your age it meant stupid and I wasn't aware of that term being used when I was younger. I'm not really either thick or thin. I know some black cultures and Latinos seem to have larger curves naturally but not all. I don't think I'd like someone calling me thick cos I associate it with the meaning of being stupid. People I know would say curvy. Was it originally used by non-white races? I don't know

    • You mean like thick headed? Yeah that's different. Nah, just most white women don't seem to like being called thicc because it apparently means they're fat. But honestly, would you call the woman in the pic fat? No. She's gorgeous. She looks like she eats, and she's happy healthy.

  • I think mommy wants a black grandbaby for letting you grow up in a pretty much all black town lol.

    • Or she just likes living here? But yes please, I would like me some chocolate bbys. (unfortunately all my neighbors are scary drug dealers though xD)

  • Majority of the people in my school are Hispanic. We like a fat ass, thin waist, decent breast. Like the women you imagine partying on the beach in Brazil. Like 70% of all the girls wear leggings or short shorts.

    • Hispanic girls are srsly best in my opinion. Haha, that's exactly the type my Brazilian friend is. She was more popular in America than brazil though, I think its because it's more common there?

  • what is thicc

  • Maybe I'm getting old. Does, "thicc" mean "thick?"

    • lmao yup

    • @meow_ness Thanks for letting me know. Now I can appear to be a little more hip. I love thicc girls. But to be honest, I also love the thick ones, also. ;)

    • Yuppers! Its basically anybody who eats fried chicken and is proud of it. I'm not talking about face thicc where they just get fat implanted though.

  • it sounds like a cultural thing so, you can't change being called thicc i guess.

    • I think its kinda annoying and ignorant when they get super upset. Like its a compliment, honestly. They should be happy.

  • yea black people happen to be fat. most of the black girls I've seen are overweight. It's like their thing. they don't care about themselves

    • Or they do. It's been proven that the women who eat more to a certain degree live long. Plus they're happier, haha so many white girls are cranky compaired to the chill black chicks I know. But then also, like who tf cares? They're allowed to eat a nice amount. You're just brain washed by the dumb white culture to be closed minded. and I'm not talking about like 300 pound women. I mean like late 100's early 200's, depending on the height and other factors. (muscle, bone weight...) It really isn't being fat.

    • you are either big boned or just fat and I mean I've literally seen tons of huge black woman. it's sick.

    • This is fat?

Its just that white culture has become stupiditly obsessed with pencil thin women with just implanted huge boobs and butt. That's not really healthy though, like women are supposed to actually eat, they're meant to have extra fat. Look at history, the greeks and romans knew what they were doin. What made their woman happy, healthy and live well.

  • what they like damn unless skinny

  • Well, thicc/thick is mostly a black and hispanic thing because that's where the term originates from. And language shapes culture and vice versa.

Black people in general prefer thick over skinny. Now the extend of what's considered thick is up for debate, but you sooner find a brother thirsting over Beyonce than a skinny playboy model with large breasts. That's just a fact. And it's not just black men either, just at the celebration Rihanna received from Black Twitter and black women in particular when she thickened up.

Likewise, white women build Iskra Lawrence or Bebe Rexha are quicker to catch our notice than say Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande.

Personally I find skinny girls boring to look at. Slim thick is fine though, but anything smaller and with less shape definitely ain't my thing.

  • there's like 3 thin black girls in the world and the thin white ones become rarer every day

    • This isn't even slightly true.

    • based on walking in my grocery store of wal mart it is

  • meme culture = SUCC

  • I'm white and like both.

  • body type means nothing to me... personality and how well we bond in a relationship means the most... you can weigh 500 pounds for all I care

  • I'm a white male and mine is pretty thick. Lol.
