I'll keep this short and brief.
The reason girls are are looked down upon for having lots of partners or sleeping with guys they aren't committed to is because girls are viewed as innocent and pure by society's values. This was primarily influenced by religion and man made cultural norms.
Girls who don't conform to those standards are both consciously and subconsciously looked down upon because that's how we were taught to think in our society.
The issue here is it's unfair to women that they have stricter expectations when it comes to sex. It's looked at as okay for a guy to have lots of sex. If that's okay then it should be okay for a girl. As long as a girl isn't cheating or playing people, a girl sleeping around doesn't hurt anybody.
A common response to my claim is the key & lock analogy.
A key that opens any lock is a master key, a lock that opens to any key is worthless.
That doesn't explain why it's wrong for a girl to sleep around. It only explains why it's an accomplishment for a guy to sleep around while it's not impressive when a girl does it.
If the lock is in good condition and when it has a suitable user, it only opens to that 1 key, that doesn't make it "worthless". It's a good lock.
If that lock still opened to many keys when bought then it would be worthless.
Using that same analogy here's my questions...
Q1: What do you think about a lock that's in good condition which normally opens to many keys, but when owned, only opens to one key?
Q2: What do you think about a lock that normally opens to a select few keys, but when owned can still open to multiple keys?

29 84Well, it's less of a sexist issue, and more of a perversion of nature.. Men are naturally more aggressive, and are more defined by hard work.. Which is why there is more leniency for men who sleep around.. .. Women are not as aggressive, and it's easier for a woman to get a dude.. Men are suppose to go out and find the women, and when he doesn't he can be ridiculed.. Like if a guy is a virgin he'll be seen as all types of weak things.. Men, also are not always praise in fact.. They are usually called playas or womanizers which are looked up upon by females and people..
I mean, there are statistics to back up the fact that divorce rate is much higher among women who slept around a lot.
Besides, getting laid is an accomplishment for men. Not so for women. That's why women are looked down upon for sleeping around.

I don't know how much it matters to anybody else and I don't care. I just know I won't marry a girl who spent her 20's as a living blow-up doll, and that's quite a few women.

Argument A: I've met more girls that have more sexual partners than I have met guys with more sexual partners.
Argument B: 3 guys have had sex, 1 girl has, so you think the guys are the majority. But the question is who has more sexual partners. See Mike, Carl and Joe each had sex once with Sarah. But Sarah has had sex 3 times, one for each guy.
Argument C: This is a personal one, I don't sleep around so I wouldn't want a girl who sleeps around.
I'm not understanding how A and B are counter arguements to why girls shouldn't be shamed for sleeping around.

A guy sleeping around is NOT considered as an accomplishment! People need to stop freaking saying that. This isn't American Pie. Guys who do this are not looked up to, they just transmit to emotionally unstable and unable to commit. I certainly wouldn't look up to my friends if they were sleeping and playing around with girls, and I'm pretty sure nobody level headed who isn't sexist would consider these actions a good thing. In fact it would entice jealousy in most cases, so this thing is just bull crap.
Secondly the only reasons why I care about a girl sleeping around are 1) STD'S perhaps the most obvious but most important.
2) May be unfaithfull to me because of increased sexual appetite
3) Because they are not fully able to commit, because they've ran around with too many people.
It has nothing to do with looking down at women simply because they've had a lot of sexual relashionship. It's girls looking down at other girls who do this by the way.. Guys are rarely associated with hate against women who have sex a lot. In fact a lot of them enjoy them for obvious reasons... lmao

Its not up to you to decide what should/shouldn't turn other people off.
At the individual level your right, people will have their own preferences. At society's level it shouldn't be looked down upon.
The societial view is just a culmination of all the individual views.
It's closer to the opposite. Society's views and norms influences it's individual's views. That's why different cultures and nations have different social norms, acceptable behavior, and rude behavior. The same actions people do as good manners in one country is rude in a another. What's commonly done and acceptable in one society could be outrageous in a different society. The only difference is the people grew up in those societies and were primarily influenced by the cultural norms there. If you grew up in a society where girls sleeping around wasn't stigmatized most people in that society would agree with me.

The "original" individuals that started it. The individuals of our time are influenced by it. With a huge social push we can influence society's norms but most of the time society dictates what most of our common values are.
I don't really see that though. There seems to be a mix of values. Just as there are guys who look down on promiscuous women there are those who don't. And I don't see how we are influenced to find promiscuous women less desirable. It is something guys decide on an individual basis. If anything there seems to be more social pressure trying to get people to NOT judge them.

Are we really going to pretend like it's the guys that stop women from sleeping around? It isn't. Men want women to fuck a lot of people, if that includes them.
