Most men who are obsessed with porn are only that way because they can't get regular sex OR regular kinky sex that they crave. Maybe they have a girlfriend who isn't good/giving/game enough, maybe she has some hangups ("ewwww, semen!") and the guy desires a more sexually liberated partner. Things like deepthroat BJs, anal sex, and other more hardcore acts some guys secretly wish their girlfriends would be down for...

I know for me, porn is mostly about the visual and aural. l like the way the vagina looks when it is being penetrated by the penis, seeing a woman writhe in orgasm, and to hear a woman moan in pleasure. It turns me on. Most men use it as a masturbation aid to help them get more aroused. I wouldn't say I am "obsessed". These days I don't watch it that much as it releases too much sexual energy that can be channeled and used elsewhere.

The allure of pornography all comes down to the fact that men are mostly visual creatures. We don't specifically need to feel a certain way to be turned on or aroused by sex. For most women, that isn't the case; women usually require some sort of feelings to be turned on or attracted. This is why women value confidence so highly while men tend to value looks, at least when it comes to sexual attraction. Some women though get off on validation. They love that they can seduce men, make men fall for them due to their sexiness, enjoy the voyeurism, etc. Men are fascinated by these types of women, the kind of women who confess their love for giving blowjobs, who can't seem to get enough (insatiable), the ones who assert themselves in the bedroom, and most importantly, aren't grossed out or hung up on the kinkier side of sex.

I don't know what you classify as an obsession. I definitely don't consider myself obsessed, I might watch it a few times in a day or every other day but I think that's a fairly normal habit to have with it. I think most people aren't quite Obsessed with it. I think you might be overthinking this.
