Why are men so picky about the way a woman’s body should look, even more so than women with men’s bodies? Are men really as picky about how a woman’s body should look in real like as they are on the internet?
Whenever men talk about woman’s bodies it seems as though they have such a strict set of specifications that exclude the majority of the female population. Whereas women who do have specific preferences for the male physique are usually very general : either bigger or smaller X, taller than me/ X height, etc. With men it tends to be much harsher and specific : it’s not enough to have big boobs they have to look like X and be this perky etc. Its not enough to be skinny you have to gain fat in this area and be flat in this area, it’s not enough to have small or perky boobs the nipple cannot be longer than X and the Areola must be smaller than X. She can have stretch marks here but not there, she shouldn’t wear to much makeup but she should look like this without makeup, etc. Especially with regard to breasts as stated above men are extremely discriminating- more so than women and don’t mind being rude about it while all the while they complain that women have too high standards.
Is this just an internet thing? Why do they do this?
Women care more about the bodies of men than men care about the bodies of women. there's discrimination against skinny and fat men. Not as much as skinny and fat women. I've heard people especially women calling skinny and fat men dorks, nerds, creeps, losers, etc... The only men that get praised in this society are muscular men especially if they are tall and good looking. I've seen obese as hell women with guys much attractive than the woman. For every body type and size of women that exists, there's a group of men that find her attractive. You cannot say the same about men. Women rubbing their vaginas and fawning over all the guys with perfect muscles and face.
0 1 0 0This is observably untrue. People liked Chris Pratt at any size, Kevin James, Jonah Hill, etc. Harry styles is one of the most praised male celebrities and he is not muscular. Just because some women call such men dorks, etc. does not mean they are treated worse than fat women who are also called slobs, cows, etc. Tom cruise, Robert Downey jr., Daniel Radcliffe, Martin freeman, Bruno mars, Dave Franco, etc. are also some of the many many male actors that are extremely popular with women. Skinny women on the other hand are told to be skinny in certain places or compared to boys, fat women are often told they aren’t women at all, women in between are also told they should have a specific ratio- which is what the question was about, why men are so specific about what women must look like. What you’ve just said is a general non specific complaint some women have about men which proves my point
Great question! From what I've observed (and I'm not alone here) men rank physical beauty amongst the VERY top criteria when evaluating a woman. So yes--we care a LOT about your bodies. Moreso then women in general care about men's bodies.
BUT. . .
we care far less about your height than you do about ours.
we care far less about your income/wealth (often not at all!) than you do about ours.
we care far less about your level of educational attainment than you do about ours.
So in the end, there are things men care about in women and things women care about in men. There is some overlap to be sure, but some things are quite different as above.

0 0 0 0Men are strong, women are pretty trope, but at the same time female hypergamy is also a thing.
0 0 0 0I can honestly say I have never had a conversation with a man who had such exacting specifics for a female partner. I spent my young and stupid years with sailors. It sounds like what you’re describing is an Internet phenomenon, because almost every straight male will take what’s offered from a woman. Obviously everybody has preferences, and if given several girls to choose from they’re going to pick the one that appeals to them subjectively the most, but even then I don’t think they’re going to be getting out a ruler or measuring tape when clothes come off. That’s one of the more ridiculous things I’ve ever heard.
0 0 0 0Same reason women are picky about mens profession
0 0 0 0Women are picky about a man’s profession because it affects the opportunities perspective offspring would have as they risk bringing a child into the world by having sex. And even then - woman aren’t so much picky about what profession a man has as how much money he makes. So I don’t see your point
Why do men sit around and evaluate what is pleasing to the eye, talk about it, and seek it out?
Because this is just what men do.
0 0 0 0I'm not picky and a girls character and our chemistry are way more important.
0 0 0 0Firstly, it is about equal, whether you like it or not. And as a man that knows other men, I don't think we are very picky. And most men just like to describe their dream girl, likewise women like to describe their dream boy.
I'll argue that due to porn, television and media, objective physical, sexual and romantic standards have increased. I understand to be biased, hell, I may still be biased, but it is not worth being up-set about the standards that the opposite gender asserted.
0 0 0 0If the “standard” rejects most of reality, how is it objective?
I intended to use the word 'objective' as the word 'everybody'
Men are visual. It's in our biology through evolution.

0 0 0 0Same reason why women are so picky about men's body and income.
0 0 0 0Most are not. I could say the same for women with men and mens bits.
