Why are men and women protective of porn and being able to look at other women/men naked and stuff?

  • They want to justify their lifestyle. Similar to how someone who smokes weed will probably try to justify how it’s not as bad as tobacco and has health benefits, etc. They want to have their vice and not feel ridiculed for it.


    It’s true that it’s not healthy for relationships though.


    Overuse of porn can cause issues with emotional intimacy and even cause erectile dysfunction, which has been a rising problem in younger men from porn consumption.


    Many of the men on this platform are single though. So, if they’re using porn to cope with being single, they want to justify why this vice is okay to have.

    • Exactly.. but being single and consuming porn is different, you don't have to spare someone's feelings. But when you have a s/o it's like c'mon keep it in your pants, you can literally have physical sex instead of jerking off to a screen.

    • @Lisia That’s very true. And if they choose porn because they are turned on by porn more than they are by their partner, there’s a problem. They need to fix their relationship, not run from their issues and escape to porn.

  • Porn is good when you're single and want to get off, or if your partner isn't in the mood. It's also good for finding out what your favorite body type is, and what kind of sex acts you like, and even can be good on occasion for discovering favored personality types, and its good for finding new things for you and your partner to try out.

    Every woman I've been in a relationship with liked porn, and it's never been a reason a breakup happened.

    Porn is just a tool, if you think of it as anything else, you're overthinking it.

    • It depends on who you're dating, if a woman herself looks at other men of course she wouldn't care. But it's bad for relationships. It has been proven by psychology. It's not okay when you have someone and you're going to look at porn to decide what other types of people you like, most of those girls aren't even real.

    • Its actually not bad for relationships, I already explained why, so I'm not going to repeat any of that, but... It also has nothing to do with who is or isn't real. A lot of porn isn't even live action, it's 2D or 3D art. I only couple with women that are sci-fi, fantasy, nature, and anime artists. Ones that play video games and have high sex drives, and most of those women have drawn porn at some point, put on cosplay outfits (or at least wanted to), installed lewd mods in video games, etc. And pretty much all of them watch porn. Your view of what harms or helps a relationship is too biased to be objective. She would care, and she would probably show me porn she thought I'd like just like every other female artist i've met who crushed on me. I've never had porn be a source of conflict or distancing or breakup in a relationship.

    • The logic, is that watch porn, isn't really hot narratively. like for example "Your hottest girl I have ever seen in my life" and then watches prn that whole statement is just thrown out the window. (For people of some what decency, watching porn isn't something they wish to do but there addicted and dont want to deal with consequences for the moment. ) For people with high sex drives things get stale quickly and an innocent release clears the mind so they can get a better idea about how to better navigate this issue. I would say for a wife is to offer alternatives offer gradual alternatives. Reduce stimulesis? across the board. Another issue is dealing with body issues, stress issues, this porn is very much like a drug, and is a crappy band aid that wrecks havoc on the sex lifes of poeple. Its best to be sympathetic, but absulotly stay away from. "Gather some ideas that can be used here and there" lol
