it all depends on who the person is. only person I every really wanted to see naked was my wife. now? not really sure. probably not ready to either.
They view it as some sort of personal trophy.
The answer is more simple. We use nudes for masturbation. Assuming we get nudes as trophies is making a sophisticated explanation for something not so complex.
