There will always be people who through legitimate or bad reasons dislike others. Sometimes, often, one bad person creates another.
As for why there are more now than before?
It is awkward because it almost sounds lile misoginy but the recent 'gender war' back during the last wave of new age feminism some 10-ish years ago is largely to blame. Lets not forget it was a huge platform in media, news, politics, all social networks and more that practically legitimized misandry as not only acceptable but the correct view.
It is mostly gone now. But the resentment between people who were involved in it remains and likely will simmer up from time to time.
So all the, guys really, blaming feminism? They're not wrong. Its just a tough reality since it sounds bitter rather than historical context. That is the main culprit. Of course, one bad thing breeds another. Not saying it was the first stone thrown. Just the last one.
I think almost everyone sane is tired of gender disputes now. Somehow it seems there's always some grand ongoing social problem that keeps people busy from actual change.
A lot of different reasons, some of it mutually encouraged. Yes, some people got burned so they get jaded and decide the opposite sex is unilaterally bad. Women have feminism fueling a lot of misandry disguised as justice, though not all feminists are misandrist or vice-versa. You also have a lot of disenfranchised men, and not all of them hate women, and not all misogynists are disenfranchised. When it gets political, misandrist feminists encourage misogynistic backlash and vice-versa, but it can also come down to upbringing and acquired beliefs. Both genders have people with devil may care attitudes dehumanizing the other as something good for sex or something else just because.
TL;Dr humans are irrational and that means they're inevitably going to have absurd views.

I respectfully disagree. I think that feminism can definitely be taken too far, into man hating territory, but I also think that women hating can go too far, too. To me, each gender and individual is responsible for their own feelings.

What is astounding to me is how many women are oblivious to the part women have played in this. Truly astounding.
For many years feminism treated men badly and spread hatred for men and boys. In recent years we've seen a backlash from men who are fed up with that treatment, and are now spreading hatred for women in return. We have feminism on one side, and MGTOWs, Red Pillers and Incels on the other, and they are just feeding the hatred on the other side with their own hatred. It's a viscious cycle.
