If this massage parlor was a reputable sports massage salon only, then the masseuse would have left the room while you get undressed and come back to take care of your aching back. No reputable and licensed sports massage parlor would ever include this kind of treatment that you mention. As @prettypriya states, those serious parlors would not tolerate that their customers get a treatment beyond what decency dictates. Also, a serious masseuse would never ask you to remove the towel over your groin and back end.
