  I've lived in 2 Asian countries for most of my life. I never saw any indication that any Asian cultures were "obsessed with being cute and child like" or "screaming like a pig to exaggerate". Are you Asian? Which Asian culture, out of literally thousands are you? If not Asian, ever been to an Asian country? Did you observe this behavior? Which countries? Or maybe you're American or Euro? Australian? Maybe your saying this is how the people of the Asian communities where yuk live behave?

  It's a cultural trend. So it's very prevalent amomg Asian cultures right now. Korea and japan and to some extent vchina are exporting their cultures to other Asian countries. Kpop, kdrama and jpop are very popular among other Asian countries. So I satnd corrected... I didn't say historically Asian cultures were obsessed with cuteness, so my point is still very valid. Besides, if you have never watched Asian porn as you have claimed in your post, I don't see how you can judge what concept they were aiming for... I strongly recommend you get your facts straight before claiming something.

  I'm half Japanese, and lived a good portion of my life (to include high school years) in Japan. Conceptually you're on the right road, though it's not so much about cuteness as it is innocence where the Japanese are concerned. A lot depends on upbringing, environment, and to some extent social class. I don't know about other Asian countries, though there are probably a lot of similarities, but the Japanese are often paradoxes of themselves. In open settings they often tell people what they want to hear rather than speak frankly, and they're not known for speaking frankly. Among traditionalists, men and women have very defined roles (which in Japan is not challenged and is fact revered, which baffles a lot of Americans). The crying in Japanese porn really isn't exaggerated all that much. Japanese sexuality is pretty quirky.
