Why do critics if hookup culture seem to focus more on shaming the girls who partake in it more than the guys who do it too?

I mean it surrre seems like it to me. Are women just more to blame for it somehow? Why?

my main stance on hookup culture is i dont partake in it but idgaf if others do just as long as they do it safely so they dont spread stds or have unwanted pregnancies and are also socially responsible as in they make each party who partakes in the sex understand that it is just sex and no emotional attachments.

orher than that i just dont care. And think others shouldn't care either if it doesn’t effect them.

I dont think hookup culture is a thing, more and more young adults are virgins then before. If there was such a thing, I think women would be more to blame. Not because women can get sex more easily but because they control sex more.

Usually women, being hypergamous, pick the best guy and try to settle with him. They usually won't be as open to sleep with a stranger for this reason. There has been studies done showing that women have a harder time bonding with their partners if she has had multiple past sex partners (her body literally releases less of the bonding hormone). Sex works differently for guys, usually, and isn't necessarily a biological bonding tool even though many couples do it as a intimate moment.

TL DR: sex works differently for women than men. If such a thing as a hook up culture still existed, it would probably be a harmful thing for women than for guys. I dont think anyone should straightforwardly be shamed, but rather warned.

I was never part of the hookup culture. Those guys I dated during my dating years who were part of it got jettisoned as soon as I figured them out (usually pretty quickly). People can live their lives however they choose as long as it doesn't affect me. It does amaze me how much rationalized bullshit guys can come up with to explain or justify why "it's perfectly natural" for guys to pursue gratuitous sex but not women. If nothing else, they're entertaining.

I think it's easier for a woman to get laid than it is for a guy, that's why.

Women are basically the gatekeepers when it comes to sex, so they basically have that control, so if they give in despite that much control, that's why they're blamed more.

Some women would rather date a guy who's got a high body count over a virgin anyway.

All in all, I agree with what you said, in terms of people wanting to do it, like go ahead, just protect yourself and others.
