Naaa, yeah I kinda like a couple of them. The Christina, clit, and vertical hood piercings are kinda hot to me. The others, yeah, no, I don't get. Especially the labia ones.
As I recall, the clit piercing is a risk; if it succeeds, it increases clit sensitivity; if it fails, you lose all clit pleasure. Which is kinda fucked up. Or was that nipples? Maybe both? I dunno. I wish I had a button solely dedicated to pleasure.
I think having a clit piercing also enhances stimulation of the clit, since there's always an object there that it rubs against. Maybe more direct stimulation?
As for mental disorders, I think there is an addiction to piercings and tattoos. It's a sort of masochism. They enjoy hurting themselves. I imagine it's doubled when they get to hurt themselves *artistically*.
That said, I can't imagine why a chick would willfully stick a steel rod through various parts of her vulva. Or why a dude would do it with his dick. Won't find me putting needles through my junk, that's for sure.

I don't think it is a healthy trend that we are seeing here. That was about the only part of the intimacy that was untouched until someone thought of doing it.
Now that the last place you could have piercings has been misused, what will come next? I believe that people will do some piercings on their pupils?
I would not sacrifice this most intimate part of my body for a piece of jewelry or any piece of metal/plastic.
I am just thinking of what would happen to that woman that for a reason X needs an emergency MRT and finds herself torn of all her genitals when the machine is switched on.
There is a limit to where, I think, a trend should go and the genitals are definitely not a place where I would want to have metal hanging and sounding like metal hitting against metal with every step I make.

Honestly and I may be in the minority, I think it can look really nice on women, not on men. That's just me though.
People like 2 pierce their genitals. Reason being it makes them more sensitive 2 touch. I think it's cool as hell. If I was younger I would love 2 have my penis pierced. Reason being the piercing can do things a man never imagine.
I would never do that, it'd be too embarrassing, hurt too much and I just don't want that pierced
