I don’t know that there is a specific or exact answer to this broad question. We all notice things from time to time, but I personally don’t believe I can generalize large groups of people. Maybe for one couple it’s a fetish. Maybe for many more than we realize it’s not about the physical appearances but maybe similar mentalities, having similar past experiences that bonds them, same beliefs, same goals, etc the same with all couples really.
There are of course some that just blatantly find something specific attractive more than others (hair color, skin color, eye color, height etc). I have a friend that literally only wants to date Korean men. 🤷🏼♀️ To each their own.
I don’t necessarily want to generalize an entire race but there are a fair number of black guys into white girls. When I was younger, I went to school in an area that was mostly black. I was one of a relatively few white students. I got a lot of male attention. Sometimes guys even fought over me. It wasn’t because I was beautiful or anything special at all. It just seemed like they saw it as a prize or maybe a challenge to have sex with the local white girl. At least that was my experience.

Some White women are attracted to Black guys and it seems to be more than their dicks because obviously there's big white dicks everywhere as well. For some, it is a status symbol; for some, t is a matter of attraction. And it is also a matter of selective attention. You probably notice every black male/white female couple you see, but don't pay attention to the black male/black female couples.
