Why do people always think gingers/redheads are absolutely nuts?

I’m not a natural redhead but I am really pale and have green eyes so it goes well with my aesthetic. I can totally pass as a real redhead though because I maintain the color so well and am asked frequently if I am a real one LOL.
anyway I heard a guy say to his friend to not date me because redheads are apparently crazy. LOL. Is this stereotype even true based on your experiences?
tbh all of the redhead women I know who I have ever been in close proximity with are all pretty out there. My boss was a redhead and was very mean and like overly passionate about everything but would gaslight, a girl I went to high school with who was also a redhead sat on her cat and killed it (accidentally?) and could seduce any guy into sleeping with her, and another redhead woman I knew was just really manipulative and again used gaslighting to shame people. But that’s just what I have seen.

Superb Opinion

  • Well i do not have a thing for redheads presay... but I have dated three genuine redheads in my life and no they were not crazy whack-a-doos. But I like their passion for life.

I have known a lot of crazy women in my life and the vast majority of them were not red heads... so in comparison there are way more blonde, or dark haired women that are super passive aggressive, gaslighting, mean and stone cold, absolute nut cases.

So I would say its an unfair and inaccurate accusations to say red heads are absolutely nuts when in fact they are probably not more or less nuts than any other other women in the world.

    • One more note... true red heads make less than 2% of the worlds population of women... and may guys have a fetish for red heads. So red heads have to suffer a lot of unwanted attention from men. So maybe that makes them a little less trusting in general. Just a theory given the stories I have heard from my red headed girl friends.

  • That hasn’t been my experience there’s a few kinds of those that I’ve seen. I can tell the onery ones right off. Yeah steer clear just like anyone else I like the quiet introverted ones that wear you out in the bedroom. Leave you sapped then lay on your chest and rest and do it again. I love red hair and green eyes it’s almost irresistible, and I’m not shy one little bit. So I do well. There’s some other traits about redheads I like , but blondes and brunettes just not as often. ✌️

What Girls & Guys Said

  • Glasgow on a Friday night. Rest my case

  • I think redheaded women tend to be more sexual. (Not sure about nuts... LOL)

  • I think its because the Irish were once known for heavy drinking and it propagated from there.

  • People don’t really think that. Lots of men love redheads,

  • Because we are 😎👍👍

  • Based on my personal experiences, the only natural redhead I know is my mother. If she's anything to go by then yeah the stereotype is probably accurate, but she could very well be an outlier.

  • I am Irish/American. As a youth, I was a ginger right to the green eyes and freckles.
I had a temper and tended to be a bit wild. I think its ethnicity.

  • Nah my first girlfriend was a redhead, she was totally great in everyway

  • My ex is. May she rot in hell.

  • I have never thought that nor ever heard anyone say that.

  • Never met a person who actually believes that

  • I am not sure about other guys, But I have always find pale girls and redhead girls attractive. Hopefully they are open minded, kind, loyal, not racist, If so then you are y type of lady ;)

  • I guess we are a little crazy lol 😂 jk I don't know why we get that stereotype and I feel like it’s worse for redhead women than it is for us men

  • Red heads are sexy!

    • Then why do guys stare at me and not really approach? I’m always single haha

  • most gingers i know, are very nice people

    • Ikr. I have met some really nice gingers too. Besides the ones I listed.

    • i have met a few asses, just average people really

  • There is no basis for this idea in reality but I would imagine it is the result of confirmation bias and our cultural associations of the colour red and passion / anger etc.

Fun fact: The colour you are assigned in a sporting competition where the outcome is based on judgement such as martial art etc can affect the outcome. Red will be percieved by judges as better than eg blue. (You show them video and swap the colours) It's only slight but it is statistically significant.
