Why do some people allow social media to think for them?

Like for example I have been seeing so many post from women saying “Who still shaves their cat? It’s 2021. Get a wax and grow up.” I personally do both but it‘s like since when does it matter if a woman chooses to shave or wax to get rid of her pubic hair? Lol It‘s like one person said it was no longer cool to shave and now it’s beneath every woman to shave instead of wax her vagina.

Because it's enormously easier to let the current carry you than to swim against it. Violating social consensus, even on innocuous things, can make the mob come down on you, and come down HARD. Few are willing to risk it; fewer still are willing more than once. What social media has done is make that consensus much clearer; no longer do people need to think, then revise their spoken thoughts upon hearing the response; they can just let the gestalt think for them. It also makes locating and harrying heretics and apostates much easier.

What a lot of people don't realize is that "George Orwell" was a pseudonym; the book was actually written by Yoda. The way we'd say it is "Big Brother is you, watching".

The other day I watched this thing on YouTube where they now use some kind of sugar to wax their pubic region.
It seems to me like shaving would just be so much more efficient and time saving

The whole Brazilian wax craze was 10 years ago. Some people on social media like to feel important by trying to influence others by "shaming".

That’s what I was thinking as well. I get most of us are young and wouldn’t know but if you feel so passionately like you say about waxing vs shaving you would know that it isn’t a new trend like so many people are making it out to be and if everyone waxes and no one shaves anymore like they say I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t still have commercials promoting razors or they wouldn’t still sell razors in stores. I guess people will even lie to fit in lol. Like I said I do both but I never cared if a woman chooses to do one over the other. It’s her hair. It’s odd for you to care about what another woman does with her body.

I totally agree you. People like to fit in and be "up with the times " but most don't even know what they are talking about. If a girl wants to shave/wax , that's her personal choice. Its quite dumb to live your life to please random people on the internet
