The honest answer is it depends how you act. If you put on a unusual voice or act overly sexual people will feel repelled. My brother and friend from Uni are both gay but they don't make it their sole identity, because of this they are accepted like anyone else.
And for heavens sake don't stare at guys. I'm straight but I've been hit on and stared at by other guys and it feels creepy and sometimes predatory - I know how women can feel in this regard, it happened again just the other day at the gym; I eventually frowned at him but he still kept doing it behind my back when I was using the machines.
I've been followed by guys too - and let me say ladies, men are at risk of being... too.
I don't act like that most people don't even know I'm gay. But yeah I'm sorry you had to go through that. Guys have it rough to because I've been sexually assaulted by a woman.
When it comes to faith its usually associated with the belief that sex should be a reproductive right of passage to father/mother offspring. And that the essential biological nature of males and females being designed to couple is the natural intended order - which Darwinism would prove to be true, but that doesn't mean you can't live your own life. Like a previously mentioned and expressed through my own experiences; the majority of distrust and aversion is caused by negative experiences, historical instances of r... , and lack of modesty in public. Unfortunately, there is a vocal minority of people within that community who's actions and words damage the reputation of others who simply want to live their lives (a terrible example of this is the tone-deaf "we're coming for your children" music video some of them recently made on Youtube... I wish I was joking, but its real)
Ignorance. Stupidity. Religious bigotry. I like the story of Jesus and the Centurion. He asked Jesus to heal his servant, a slave he could replace at the cost of maybe a day's pay. The fact that a Roman would ask a Jew for help tells me that he loved his servant deeply. By healing the servant Jesus blessed their relationship. There is nothing in the bible against same sex relationships. The oft-quoted passage is more about hygiene than sex. The book of Ruth is pro-lesbian. King David and his 'friend' Jonathan were probably lovers. Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed for homosexuality but for crimes of rape and murder.
I don’t hate gay people. But I don’t get their personality. (Shocker) I was actually bullied and criticized by gay teens in high school. The lesbians physically pushed me in gym class and gay guys threw shade to my face during English literature.

I don’t know why. I’m a firm believer in do what makes you happy. Everyone should be with the person that makes them happy, regardless of gender. I have a best friend on g@g that is and a friend in real life as well. I support both of them!

I was pretty quiet about it, I only told my friends and I actually lost my friend group because I came out. I think people who show it off all the time are obnoxious and stay away from that.
I think there are a number of reasons why people don't like gay people. Some gay people shove it in your face and that is not on. For males that don't like gay men, I think it's because they are not secure in their sexuality or are naive enough to think than that person might try and turn them or try it on with them. I guess there are also people that believe that the reason we have sexuality is for reproductive purposes to procreate for the survival of the human race. For most it's probably because they are just ignorant.
I don't think it's such a big deal these days in school, could be wrong their, but in my day that would have been a massive no no. People just didn't really come out back then. As bad as the new generation is at some things they are far more accepting of sexuality.
That's what it is. They can't accept gay people because they see homosexuals as sinners. They think they have the right to judge people and tell them how to live their lives but they don't
Anal worms, STD, aids, too many partners and spreading diseases to normal people because of bisexuals. Otherwise I do not care, just stay far away from me.

Because liking somone is not a default state. I'm bi and I don't like gay people, I don't like bi or straight people either. The people I like however can have any sexuality.
I don't hate them. I feel uncomfortable around them. I think they have more rights than I do. Mostly it is insulting God , which said that lifestyle is a sin.
Well it's natural to feel uncomfortable for something that's new or you don't quiet understand so I know where your coming from. But I don't know why that part of the Bible is harped on so much. People have slowly forgotten about some sins in the Bible because it can become outdated and I feel that being gay is a sin is also outdated.
But I can understand why being religious it would make you uncomfortable, because it's just what's taught to you. As long as you're not actively discriminating against the lgbtq+ or treating us in a rude or derogatory way I'm cool with it.
But on the other hand I can't really understand why people living their lives could insult god.
Their cultural and educational up bringing are probably responsible
