  • My understanding is that they're there both to give more surface area for our pheromones to evaporate on (communication through smell) and to help protect our genitals from harm.
Think of us prior to the invention of clothing.
A girl may sit down nude on the ground but with those hairs there's less danger of her getting anything in that might cause an infection.
And well, for us guys it might be nice to feel something getting close to our crown jewels and be able to get rid of it (think insects) before any harm is done, the same is probably true for girls.

Mind you this is my *guess* I haven't actually looked up anything scientific here...

  • I know this probably isn't true but this is what I heard when I was a kid. That it kept the semen close to the vagina so there is a better chance that Dorothea pregnancy. Back in the day it wasn't like it is now there were so many miscarriages they needed pregnancies to keep their society going. The one about your baby killers it was a more gentle more merciful time. • In addition to other entries below, it’s also there for cooling and keeping things at a decent temperature range

  • Good question. Why do we have armpit hair also?

  • Kind of like eyelashes. It catches dirt and other grime and keeps it out/off of our genitals. It's also thought to help avoid chaffing

  • It helps from getting infections related to the genitalia area

  • it provides the crabs with a place to live.

  • The hair keeps you a little bit warmer and it protects your genitals from dirt, bacteria and that sort of thing.

  • From the cave-man days, it kept foreign matter way from your genitals. And it's the center of the hormones that make it grow.

  • You do realize that our ancestors had far more body hair than we do now, do you? Like, fur. And you do realize that our ancestors not always wore clothes, obviously, do you? So, what exactly is the confusion?

  • Protection. It can stop damaging bacteria or other thing from reaching our privates

  • It’s protection and it serves as a cushion. In women it traps the smell which turns men on for procreation. After menopause women lose most all of it because procreation is no longer a factor for needing it

  • keep your PP from getting sun burned. There is hair in nose, eyes, head, legs, chest, face, toes and hands. Being a mammal I guess

  • it serves no purpose since we wear underwear and clothing. It might have served a purpose when we live in caves. Now their are a bunch of neo-douche feminists who insist that it is imperative to have pubic hair. They are all idiots and only serve to be a good example of why men and women will never be equal
