While women make decent guys wait for sex or cheat on them. Why do they do this?

Because "good" and "safe" are boring to women. They can't conceptualise that the quiet guy who shows them respect and would make a lifelong partner, might also be a kinky bastard who's willing to try whatever they want to have a fulfilling sexual relationship.

Whereas those who can leverage the "dark triad" of personality traits (narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy) are dangerous and exciting, so easy to believe this would translate to physical ability as well, even if it's not true or ultimately abusive.

Simple. Inexperienced women have a hard time telling a difference between reality and fantasy. It may be obvious to you and I. But to inexperienced women when she catches feelings for a douchebag she'll believe any lie that feeds the illusion he's creating because she wants to believe it. So she'll blow passed every red flag. The only maddening thing is when it's all over she completely blames the guy for his deception. She takes no responsibility for her foolish choice. Which means she'll probably repeat the mistake.

This question has been around for ages. "why do women chose bad guys over good guys?"

The answere is; they don't! They chose the man they're attracted to, The one they believe have more to offer into a relationship. They get hurt when their hopes and dreams for that relationship doesn't Work out.
Truth be told, a "good guy" is just a guy who hasn't had the opportunity yet to become a douche.
