Like turning off a faucet there is always a drip or two so we shake it off.
On the flip side I always say if you shake it more than two times you’re playing with it.

Because if the man has the foreskin intact then the urine left under the foreskin will start "gathering" bacteria, and will start to smell. If it has no foreskin then whatever is left on the canal, while the penis head retracts, it will drip the "leftover" on to the underwear, and if it is to get an "unplanned" bj, or sex the opposite sex might look at the person weird thinking: "did he just wet his boxers?", so yeah!

Some do it for sanitary reasons by getting any remaining out of the urethra. I go a step further and actually wash off the tip and urethra every time with water and soap.

Shaking empties the hose.

No matter how much you shake and shake and shake, the last drop always ends up in your undies. Which is a problem if you're in a bathing suit or something similarly un-absorbent. There's nothing worse than a visible pee spot.

To get the last few drops off, the same women wipe after peeing, I sometimes wipe my penis to get the last off, same as a woman.

There may be some urine still in the urethra near the tip. Shaking the penis gets rid of that. If we don't shake, those drops might end up in our underwear, which would not be good.
