Why does having your salad tossed feel good?

I think it just kind of spreads the dressing very evenly across the salad, mostly the dressing distribution is very nice when the salad is tossed instead of stirred.

I guess it's kind of like waffle fries. Some people like those, I don't because the ketchup distribution is all clumpy and in between the holes. I like the straight, simple french fry where the ketchup distribution is even and easier to control.
