Why does he want me to tell him I love you during sex?

When we are intimate, he keeps asking "Do you love me?" and sometimes says "Tell me you love me!" WTH? What's up? What does he want?

  • I had this happen to me last week. Been seeing a guy since January casually and we got more serious in June till now October.
    I’ve told him in passing that I love him not made a big deal of it more like You know I love you. Anyway during sex last week he asked me ‘do you love me?’ Me yes? ‘Tell me you love me!’ We were a little drunk. And when I asked him after sex if he loved me also he said I was putting him on the spot... wtf. So I basically argued with him for two days after saying that it was embarrassing to be put on the spot like that and be asked and not have him say it back or feel it back. Not sure if I should stay with him to be honest.

  • It may be an ego thing. He wants to know that you are truly enjoying yourself or "loving" sex with him. Or perhaps he is looking for greater intimacy with you during sex. And the idea of you loving him makes it more intimate.

  • I'm not sure... It might be an EGO thing... like "who's your daddy?". It might be that he wants to feel that it's more than just sex.. a hint of emotions from you.

    If it's weirding you out tell him so... when you aren't having sex.

    • We are in a friends with benefits situation... but recently got pretty close... he said I love you a week back but said “sorry it just came out... I didn’t mean to say it” and I didn’t think much of it because he was on shrooms... or at least that’s what he told me... but a week later He said “ tell me you love me” I did twice and he kept saying it like 3 more times but I didn’t say it back... I’m guessing he got the memo... I want to say it to him but I want to make sure it means so thing first.
