Why does he want to learn about lesbians?

I think my friend is infatuated with lesbians or thinks he can understand lesbians on a deeper level as he’s a man. I don’t understand his approach and his dialogue… it conforms why I can’t have conversations with straight people or include them in my circle. He says he’s not gay and he’s not straight either because he’s asexual and Ace. Maybe someone can help me understand his infatuation or curiosity. Me being lesbian isn’t a task or job it’s my sexuality that I’m proud of, but he wants to know every detail about lesbians

I could never understand men who think they can get into the psyche of women and their spaces.. lesbians clearly don’t want men in the spaces. He did say that he joined a lesbian group to understand lesbians wtf? I don’t understand that.
