  • Most of sex is in our minds. It's why for women it's much easier to get you off over time, providing a comfortable environment, being dependable. None of them have anything to do with the act of having sex, but rather removing doubts and distractions.

It's why men and women can be excited and ready to go before being touched sometimes. Porn does the opposite for both. It's a role-play, but one that doesn't involve any actual involvement. You put yourself in the head of the person doing the fucking, or fantasize about getting some from a woman masturbating, whatever is going on with the porn you're watching.

Basically you're switching sex in your head to something you're a passive, rather than active participant in. Which will usually lead to you having less sex, also having got off already for guys. The link between porn and ED is weak and contested. The link between the frequency of sex and ED is solid. If you don't use your dick and get fully erect on a regular, your chances for ED go up and up.

You don't have to be fully erect or immersed in porn to get off, or get gratification from it. You do from penetrative sex though. Whether you're watching porn or not, have sex more than once a week and you half your chances of getting ED. It's also good for your prostate to get off on a regular, so more sex is better all around. That's a choice people have to make on their own though, and not everyone has a partner to have sex with on a regular. Some partners withhold it as a means of control.

Anyway, that's all I got, have more sex. I'd rather mix things up with my partner (s) than sit alone in a room jerking it, but that's me.

  • Several reasons. A friend of mine wrote his doctoral thesis about it. Amazing read. Cutting out the heavy psychological terms, some cliffs notes are:

Overstimulation is one major factor. When you see scene after scene of your favorite scenario, other scenarios don't cut it anymore. A woman getting undressed is now boring. Her running her hands down your body... boring. Foreplay in general... *yawns* wake me up when we get to the good stuff.

It's visual, not kinesthetic. So since you get used to being aroused by visual stimuli only, being in a dark room and only being able to feel what your skin is touching isn't what you've been practicing. When you're a teen, it's all about imagining how it feels, but as you practice that porn response, the brain rewires itself.

And then there's the comparison between what you see in porn and what you see in real life. You can find anything you want in porn. The girl's breasts aren't perfect? A few clicks, and you find exactly what you want. That new girl you're dating doesn't have perfect breasts? Your brain says change the channel.

    • Fact$, we have more power in our purpose. Not our appeasement

  • Because they start comparing real life to perfection. That leads to them always being unsatisfied.

  • I've never heard of that. If I had to guess, it would be a mental thing, rather than a biological thing. Perhaps the same part of the brain that's affected by gambling and causes addiction. Just don't get those feelings of arousal without porn anymore. Would have to look at the actual research to know, assuming any has been done and this claim is true.

    • It's real

  • Good question, thank you for asking it.
Simply said, they are too conditioned by what they saw and that they got addicted to that stuff, so real things don't have much of an effect on them.

  • I'm not sure 🤔 but I think it's a good point to not over do something

  • its too much masturbation, caused by release of dopamine from visual stimuli. In a nutshell its addictive

  • Porn doesn't. Very frequent masturbation leaves then depleted.

  • A guess here, but it may be because they get so used to the exaggerations in porn, that they have difficulty sexually relating to a real woman.

  • I don't know that it does, although I have read that it does cause erectile disfunction. Perhaps, real sex with a body does not match up with what is shown in porn? I don't know how much, if any, study supports this idea, but it may be true. Personally, I can get very hard watching porn, and then with a woman, have not been able to get it up with her. Hard, (no pun intended) to know without more studies I suppose

  • Desensitization.

  • For me its because the fantasy of the scene is hotter in real life. Women orgasm psychologically. Well guys can too if triggered by porn. It depends on what they type. Could be cheating porn or tranny or rape. Whatever the kink they can't dovit in real life.

The solution is to stop watching porn. Stop masturbating all together. With a week or 2 he will be exploding deep inside your pussy. Thats what i did. As a sex addict my girlfriend at the time became a porn star to me. I craved her soooo bad. She loved it. Even just spooning at night. I stopped masturbating and I was so hard around her all the time.

    • Good answer sir

  • Maybe cuz it stimulates their mind and messes with their nerves is my guess , I don’t really watch porn honestly cuz it does nothing for me , I rather make my own porn with a girl not ewatch someone else getting off

  • Over use and over stimulation.

  • As one who has been using pornography as a masturbation aid since I discovered my father’s stash at the age of 12, I dispute that pornography causes ED.
I think that idea comes from the sexually neurotic/repressed lunatic fringe of American Christianity.
Those people want everyone to be as sexually frustrated and neurotic as they are.
Pornography exists as a masturbation aid, nothing else.
If some in this place saw what floated my boat, their brains would melt. 🤣

  • Oh it's not the porn mate, it's the stress of working at home, the bad diet and the occasional abuse of alcohol... well that's what my friend told me lol

    • Hey you missed you! How are you? I miss ava too

    • Good thanks mate! How you doing?

  • It doesn't fapping too roughly can injure the penis, and that can cause ED, but normal masturbation can't.

  • That's an easy one. Jerking off too much can cause it. Make it difficult or near impossible to get hard.

    • I didn't know man lol

    • Its never happened to me, but i have read stories on mens health forums

    • Pants on fire 😂😂😂

  • They want to be like an actor on bed.

  • i don't think porn does that. i think a mans consuption of porn in connection with frequent and rough masturbation can desensitize him to the point where he can't stay hard during sex.

errectile dysfunction is typical a hormonal thing. not a thing that porn causes.

    • Porn is so addictive it can make it so a guy can’t perform with a normal woman at all. It’s called porn creep or porn induced erectile dysfunction. Look it up

    • @Pterodon no that's not erectile dysfunction. i know about this stuff. that is masturbatory desensitation, not erectile dysfunction. erectile dysfunction comes from problems with your bodies hormonal balance in terms of testosterone specifically, which is why that hits mostly men in their 40s. you can fix desensitation by simply not looking at porn for 2-3 weeks. i know, cause i've been there. you can't fix actual "erectile dysfunction" easily likt aht.

    • @Pterodon also you can get desensitation from watching porn without even being addicted.

  • Because many are porn addicts and a real person doesn't stimulate the same area of the brain anymore. The same area drugs and gambling by the way, these can be serious issues and require professional help.

  • There’s probably so many kinky porn sex that real life sex becomes boring to them

  • If they're into bizarre stuff or watch porn with really hot actresses a plain old female body may not be enough to get them revved up.
