When I think about double standards between men and women, I think about the ones that affect me. The one that gets me the most is that if a man says something to a woman and she doesn't like it, it's perfectly acceptable for her to slap him. No one would bat an eye and some people would actually laugh at him and say he deserved it. If a MAN slapped a women who said something he didn't like, if he so much as screamed at her, not even touch her, he would be condemned as a bad man for not having his temper under control. God forbid he slap her.
However, when i hear about the double standards that affect women, the one I hear the most is "slut shaming". And I can't say it isn't a real thing. Women get called sluts if they like to sleep around. But let's take a minute to figure out who is doing the slut shaming. Girls don't walk around with a piece of paper on their head that says "I'm a slut". The so called slut isn't placing the label on themselves, it's the rest of us. That includes ALL OF US. Girls call each other and guys call girls sluts.
But wait, it's not fair that a girl can't sleep around without being called a slut and if a guy sleeps around he's the man. Well I can't say there isn't plenty of truth to that statement. Girls are much more heavily judged when it comes to sex than men. But think about this, why do we come up with the label "slut". It's meant to degrade but also identify who a person is sexually. There are "prudes", "goody goody", or "f*** boys" and "sluts". There is no avoiding those labels, and a lot of these are self placed. I have been in both categories and I'm ok admitting to being labeled either of those because I know those don't define me. Anyways, I have been a prude because I used to be horrible with girls so people thought I was a prude. Then I went to college and started being more sexually successful and I got labeled a "f*** boy". But who were the ones saying I was those things? Girls.
Girls know how to hurt people, I don't say that as an insult, but it is generally true. Girls know how to get under peoples skin AND THEY KNOW IT haha. Think about it, guys don't generally call each other "f*** boys" or anything like that unless it's a guy talking to a girl he wants and she wants the so called f*** boy. It's out of jealousy. But girls call each other sluts and other disrespectful slurs to each other and place similar labels on guys.
If you want to change the problem, change yourself. You can only control yourself and it doesn't do any good to call other people sluts or f*** boys. You aren't building yourself up, it only makes you seem mean and insecure. Remember, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

8 28Girls have a lot of criteria for a guy. One of the criteria for men is that she doesn't sleep around, at least for a a girl that they want a serious relationship with. Girls would find it a turnoff if the guy went to prostitutes before and guys find it a turnoff if the girl is a hoe.

If a man has had a lot of success, that says that many women find him attractive. It's a form of approval--a sign he's a good catch, good genes, whatever. Hence why
If a woman has had a lot of partners, it's a sign to men she might be unfaithful and cuckold him or such.
On a practical level? Women aren't attracted to chaste male virgins the same way men are attracted to cute girl virgins.
Two groups putting their own standards on each other. Not a double standard.
Charlie Sheen is a loser? In a world that worships money, I think he's done pretty well for himself. That of course is only if we completely ignore his moral alignment.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. A man who sleeps around is most certainly unfaithful. A woman who sleep around: why is she not a good catch, has good genes, has game? It's apparent she is if she's landing all of these guys that she's a catch with good genes and game as well. Your logic is unbalanced and biased.
@dominiquois : Can men cuckold women? Not very easily. Therefore, his argument stands. Sure, a man can cheat. But he can't get pregnant via cheating. He can, however, get his cheat partner pregnant. However, it's a lot harder for him to convince his wife to raise some other woman's child without her figuring out what happened. A woman, however, can defraud a man much more easily in this way.
Who gives a fuck if he can't get pregnant? That is redundant. Cheating is still cheating. It's wrong no matter how you slice it. Period, end of story.

All stupidity in one place but try to understand what i'm saying. If too many people enter a toilet. The toilet gets dirty and is overused. That is just like a women and a man. Women let men entering their body with sexual intercourse and men are entering bodies with intercourse. That is the reason why people slut-shaming women and not man.

And to go on with this; for men in old-fashioned countries it's an manly honour to bang many girls. That's why foreign parents always keeping the girl from dating and love but the boy can go on and do what he wants.
Women are free to identify and avoid men who have proven themselves successful sexually with a lot of women.
They won't because that's the kind of men women want.
You can't make people want what they don't want.

Comparing paris hilton to charlie sheen is a pretty bad example. Paris hilton is literally only famous for releasing a sex tape whereas charlie sheen is a successful actor. Of course who do you think is going to receive more respect.

Female masturbation is used to sell shampoo for fuck sake, it's praised and not considered gross or wrong. Female sex toy industry makes 14 billion a year while the entire porn industry only makes 4 billion comparatively. Women can talk about watching porn, or going to see male strippers without judgement. You hear it online and in media all the time and it is considered "girls just having fun". When girls want sex, they can be aggressive or overt about it. They can get together in groups and go out to a bar just looking to drag off and when they want to they do.
Women are hypocrites when it comes to sexuality and who shames who.

@rachel1112 Nope. There's a lot of shit you "learn" as a kid that's wrong, but, that just might be the most wrongest of it all. There's probably about as many men as women who are wired for commitment, and for whom sex outside deep relationships just doesn't sit well. The problem is, big crowds of "bros" don't really accept that. Crowds of bros have just as strong an influence as slut-shaming women do -- just in the opposite direction. I mean, I don't know how well you understand boys, but... can you imagine a boy actually SAYING "I'd much rather die a virgin then know I slept around" to an audience of peers? Highly religious environments excepted. No WAY.

in my country no matter what you did if you're a independant girl who have a love/sex life you're a whore ! i hate it nobody know that i'm no lounger virgin cause i'd be insulted and called slut , i hate it but the worst parte is most of slut shaming are made by other girls , they always call other girl slut. girls should be the first to respect other girls and guys would follow.
