Why I Deleted My Instagram In 2012

I was twelve years old

And still smart enough to see instagram was just a softcore porn site.

And at its worst, a place where delusional people post picture diaries of their mediocre lives.

A guilty pleasure of mine is looking through my old mates profiles. Two just got married this week.

Fools. Looking back on all the things I've been told about marriage Even by my own parents Talking about their parents...marriage is for simps. Something always felt wrong about marriage to me. At least the kind of marriage thats common today which is actually elopement. it involves losing your self respect. if you're a man. if you're a woman it means you had a loser pursue you long enough to capitulate to his desires. For a few months before the divorce hearings.

I asked myself "why am i using this app?" Even at 12, i knew my life was too private to share on instagram. How can a legend be built when his childish decisions are exposed to the world.

I wouldn't get an instagram again or anything similar until im 25-30 when i have my full faculty of reasoning. Which i think is very important for the aforementioned reason

  • It sounds like you're just a pervert and using Instagram for socializing. Some people care about making money and we use Instagram to advertise our business.
    I don't mess around with the social and vanity aspect of Instagram, but I know the social media platform is great for advertising small businesses because it's free to use.

  • I've never had an Instagram account and I have no interest in creating one. I feel that it would piss me off.
    I understand why you deleted it.

  • I never saw the appeal of instagram... I have it now, only for a year or so to occasionaly check some youtuber etc but I barely ever open it. I'm in general not as addicted to social media as most of my peers.

  • Instagram is fun, but some people spend WAY too much time on there and take these posts to heart. No need to get insecure over some photoshopped airbrushed photos of people that aren’t even real!
