Many lesbians have identified as bisexual at one point. Even YouTuber, Ariel Scarcella, admits that she has misidentified herself as a bisexual even though she's a full lesbian. Internalized homophobia would also provoke someone to identify as half straight.
It's very common, especially for teenagers, to be confused about who they are. There's a study that proved that lesbian women and straight men are only turned on by women and their attraction to females increase as their sex drive increases. Straight women, on the other hand, are typically aroused on by a wide range of sexual stimuli (including animals too), but are only capable of feeling attracted to a man. Straight women with higher sex drives get aroused more by every sexual thing that happens which may lead one to believe that she's bisexual even though she's just a straight women who's a sex addict or a pervert.

Again, it's very common, especially for teenagers, to be confused about who they are. Many "bisexuals" are going through a "bisexual" phase right now. And many former "bisexuals" have gone through this phase as well. It's quite ironic to see that if a gay guy says he's slept with a woman before and claims to be fully gay, no one will challenge or deny that. If that's possible, I'm sure it's still possible for a straight guy to sleep with a man and still be only attracted to females. There are confused straight guys as well as confused gay guys. Many people don't understand what sexual orientation is because they confuse behavior and arousal for attraction.
There was a study that examined the arousal patterns of "bisexual" guys. Some of them didn't experience any arousal during the study. Many of them were only aroused by gay porn. One of them was only aroused by lesbian porn.
Mice are mammals as well and many psychological studies are based on the study of mice behavior in order to relate with human behavior. Male mice with high sex drives didn't discriminate between which gender they wanted to sexually hump. It's not known whether or not the male mice with high sex drives are actually turned on by both genders. My guess is that, just like straight human males, the male mice are more turned on by the opposite gender as their sex drives increase, but in order to relieve their high sex drive, they will fuck anything that moves when there are no readily available females. It's very common for straight guys to fuck objects, experience paraphilia, and/or basically fuck anything that moves when their sex drive is way higher than the average male's sex drive. If they don't resort to that kind of behavior, they will resort to other destructive behaviors. What you do and what you are turned on by are two different things. Your behavior doesn't determine what your sexual orientation is; your genuine, PRIMARY attraction to a gender does.

Or because when they grew up being homosexual for a man was actually illegal until 1967 and in UK there was a different age of concent all the way until 2001. Elderly people grew up with a "if you're not straight you'll be shunned, kicked out of the family and even go to prison" so I'd definitely say it's more their upbringing that leads them to not be bi...
@HotJealousy many of the people taking part in the 60s hippie movement are elderly people today. those didn't care about those standards. how many of those are still bi? it was illegal till 1976. are we in 1976? no so what's the reason for refering back to those times. if you were bi all along, you will be bi in 2019 even if it was forbidden 40 years ago, cause that shit doesn't really change with age, according to that logic.
Not if you'd be brought up thinking it was wrong, supressing those feelings. If I was born in 1960, that would make me 59 this year, if i had gone for the first 14 years of my life being told that homosexual activity was illegal and wrong and sinful and punishable by prison sentences you'd develop associations with being homosexual, called schemas in psychology. So you'd always associate being homosexual with criminality, so if you ever felt those feelings you'd supress them subconsciously. My grandparents grew up like that, and only in the last couple of years did they accept homosexuality wasn't "dirty and wrong" they both attribute their upbringing to it, they say "in those days you just weren't gay, being gay wasn't accepted" growing up through your formative years with that mindset would change you for life.
@HotJealousy if people weren't gay despite it not being accepted, we wouldn't ever gotten to the point where we accept it.

@HotJealousy actually pain isn't always at the exact point where it's cause is located. your foot can hurt but the reason for that is that your neck is not properly aligned. it happens a lot in osteopathy. so yeah when i tell the doctor that my foot hurt and he tells me it's cause my neck smine needs to be reajusted, am i the fool for walking out on that doctor or is the doctor the fool? feelings don't appeal to rational correctness. just cause you genuinely feel something doesn't mean you're right. i'm just saying that the confusion thing seems to be the case, because i only see elderly straight and gay people but not bi ones (or any of the other modern bullshit terms) it just seems to be a current epidemic in the confused youth of today where it seems everything is ok and there's no points of orientation anymore, cause everything is accepted. once you're older, you have usually corrected that confusion.

i don't think they're confused, they just like sleeping with both sexes. the amount of bisexual women that are seen everywhere should tell you something. of course there's some people that lie about their sexuality or are in denial about it.
This is complete bullshit. As a bisexual guy with an average sex drive, I know that I am equally attracted to both sexes because I find physical and personality features about both attractive. I have dated multiple men and women, had sex with a few of them as well, although I generally tend to wait for a while and get to know the person well. I am attracted to the substance of a person's physical features and personality. There is absolutely no debate that I am bisexual.
