I do not understand how one form of oral sex is degrading and another is not. I did a search and saw thread after thread of how blowjobs were degrading to women but not a single one about it being degrading for a guy to go down on a girl. If you think a blowjob is degrading It stands to reason that you should think going down on a girl is degrading. My wife recently told me she thought blowjobs are degrading and said she doesn't want to do it anymore. I said ok no more oral sex but no that's not it. She still wants me to give her oral and I enjoy giving her that pleasure because my number one goal is to make my wife happy, but I am not going to because it makes no sense to me that one is degrading and one is not. Seems more like selfishness to me. I would go down on her before during or after. I would do what ever it took to make her happy. After all isn't that what it is about making each other happy?

There's a societal stigma that follows blowjobs that isn't the same with cunnilingus. Blowjobs have long been associated with prostitution, whore houses, porn, and viewed as a seedy thing only women of a lower value would do. Even though times have changed and people are much more open minded, that perception of blowjobs has stuck somewhat. It's still seen as a thing that men take advantage of, expecting women to do it as a request on the side, etc. In a lot of those cases, the same negative connotations about it are brought back.
In short, because women were treated like objects in the past, some still feel blowjobs are a way of treating them the same now.
Yeah good point, should make each other happy but hold off going down on her and when she asks tell her it’s degrading to men to do that, it’s just an excuse not to do it, I never made a woman feel degraded doing it and it isn’t unless you’re taking orders from a dom

It is viewed the same as a kiss like you meet the man and he wants it right away. I think it is way too personal and should be reserved for when the couple is close. It's like the icing on the cake..
If a man doesn't let the woman take the lead while doing it. Suggestions are fine but no pushing a woman's head down or thrusting upward. That is highly disrespectful.
If the man shows no appreciation like of course you are supposed to do it. Only about 15% of women actually enjoy it. The others are muddling through it.

It's wrong is what's wrong with it. I don't know what you mean. "He can" do those things is not a justification for saying there's a difference, when there's not. If she doesn't want to do that stuff, then they should have a conversation about what each other likes.
@Thatsamazing, Of course, it's important to agree on what's alright and what isn't. I'm just telling about the degrading parts of blow jobs. Whenever I'm with someone new, I always make sure they understand how I like it, especially because I have some boundaries.
I am just talking about a normal blowjob, just 5 or 10 minutes of foreplay. I am not confusing real life with porn set. I imagine very few girls would be cool with that. (unless they were on a porn set)
