Why is gay marriage filicide and marijuana legal but prostitution isn’t?

You can’t tell me it’s a moral issue if those things are also legal I believe it’s because even more men wouldn’t want to date or marry if we can just have sex even it would solve the incel problem and the pay gap women just want men to provide anyways might as well legalize it

States began making prostitution illegal as stds increased as many brothels were places where stds were running rampid Furthermore prostitution was seen in the eyes of the church as immoral. As far as marijuana it’s not legal federally just certain states have either decriminalized it or legalized it in that state. However if you have marijuana convictions and you wish to buy a firearm even in the states that have legalized it you will not pass your background check. Gay marriage was simply allowing gay couples to be married in the eyes of the state. This doesn’t mean that they can be married by any minister as many do not support gay marriage and those opinions are protected but the first amendment. The other thing about prostitution is in many places where prostitution was legal in the late 1800s and especially in the early 1900s organized crime became and issue. Marijuana is a completely different subject in fact hemp clothing and other textiles were extremely common until the mid 1800s when the cotton gin was really beginning to take off this caused a rift between the north and south as cotton was now more readily available and easier to turn into clothing this really began the north’s fight against slavery. Keep in mind it was only the south that used slavery in fact it was extremely common in the north as well even during the civil war in fact Abraham Lincoln said “ if I could save the union without freeing a slave I would do it”. Don’t take this wrong he didn’t mean he supported slavery in fact he had always been emphatically against it but it’s an indication that slave was not the main driver behind the war in fact it was more about the taxation and things that were being done to slow cotton production. After the war and into the early 1900s cotton became king all but killing of much of the hemp production. And in the 1930s as Mexican immigration became more prevalent and with them came marijuana which was popular amongst minorities a tax law was passed that but but made marijuana illegal. It was overturned by the Supreme Court eventually but not long after the modern drugs laws were passed in the sixties. And marijuana was lumped in with far more dangerous drugs.

It's slowly changing. A woman appeared before a judge on a prostitution charge. He dismissed it saying if it being given for free what's the problem with her making some money. Actually it's being made legal in some countries.

Prostitution was made illegal to appease the indignation of women high on the local social ladder. They considered it degrading, immoral and harmful to the reputation of the community. Eventually almost every state banned it.

I’m all for sex work and legalizing prostitution (as long as it’s in a place that’s monitored and they get tested regularly) but I don’t see how the morality of it compares to consenting adults getting married or weed smoking lol
