@Bricealan I've known a few people who's families were destroyed and the kids were emotionally hurt too very badly. Know one guy who found out his kid wasn't his kid when the child was 5, and divorced her for cheating, but then had to pay child support until the child was 18 and a half. The kids in these situations are the unintentional victims of the cheating parents choices. I've been the other woman before, unintentionally as he told me he was single until his wife came to me. Then we confronted him together and this guys family was destroyed too, and his kids cause of what he did... I would not ever want to be in that situation knowingly and intentionally.

The rules are slowly changing on that, some states if you impregnate a married woman, officially her husband would still be the father while the biological father must pay child support. Biological father may not be able to see the child and a court can issue a restraining order if he tries to get near that child. In an event of a divorce both the ex-husband and biological father would need to pay. Power? I guess it is definitely part of it.
