These are two different things, porn is more like acting where the other is actual sex and may involve human sexual trafficking.

Of all the illegal prostitutions going on, it is estimated that 1/3rd of the girls are not in it by choice, they are being trafficked sexually.

The State Department estimated that between 15,000 and 50,000 women and girls are trafficked each year into the United States. This is highly under reported crime.

There is already an estimated tens of thousands of women in human trafficking in the United States alone with thousands more each year.

It affects minorities far more with the cartel finding they can make more money trafficking women and underage girls. Then conditioning them to the point that any one talking to them will think they are doing it willingly.

Would any man want to have sex with a 1/3rd chance that she doesn't really want to be there doing that?

Legalizing it would allow the cartel to do it even more, forcing more girls and women into it and controlling them.

Perhaps that's their excuse but I really don't think the government cares about all the crime considering they are probably involved in all that corruption, it's a greedy government trying to get money, you don't think the government is involved with sex trafficking or involved in the dark web? Nowadays people have put money over humanity and its pathetic, what gives it away is how theirs no form of actual progress on stopping sex trafficking, we put billions into military technology and worldwide technology yet we can't bust sex trafficking organizations? Maybe these governments don't want too cause it's more money in their pockets.

I don’t know but I feel it’s not because the government can’t make money of off it. The goverment could easily set up laws to make prostitution legal in like brothels, that act as employers, and have the prostitutes pay income tax just like for any other job.

You can't catch an std or become pregnant by watching porn, and since only the customer is paying for the service, but isn't recieving any actual sex, it does not count legally as prostitution, because no one is trading money for sex.

In the cases where someone is getting paid, its pretty much always both participants getting paid by an overhead, so the financial unfairness issue that occurs when prostitutes get paid, but clients don't (despite both recieving sex), is avoided.

You can also watch porn free, and make porn without getting paid to do so. So it's not even monetized at all most of the time. In fact you don't even need actual people to make porn, you can use drawings, animation, cgi, or ai generated images or video.
