Ok, I’m going to explain this for you. Go back to a time when you had to work/build/create everything you had. There were no grocery stores or food stamps. At that time, raising children was VERY expensive. In addition to being resource intensive, there’s the need to protect them from physical harm…from neighboring tribes and/or wild animals.
If you - as a father - were expending that much in time and resources protecting your children, you’d want to ensure to the best of your ability that you were raising YOUR children. Not someone else’s genetic line. The best way to do this is to marry someone who has not had sex with anyone else. If their only sexual experience is with you, then you help ensure you’re raising your children.0 0 0 0It isn't, and you're basically retarded for making such false assertions and should not have slept through Sunday school.
The idea of virginity comes from the idea of honesty and virtue. There are many things that can break virginity - rape, injury etc that the person has little control over. But the persons honesty and virtue will always be intact. Hence it's not talking about the sexual aspect, but the personality aspect of the individual.
A whore or philandering bum will never possess honesty or virtue. But no one is going to ask if you're a whore or philanderer, are they? Sheesh, how do people like you survive to your age? Your parents must really give you a sheltered life!0 0 0 0Oh really? It was nothing to do with sex? You religious people are so full of shit

Normally people post questions like these and I become triggered. However, your second sentence saved me the trouble - you are 100% correct! Virginity holds no value unless you are the virgin - and only then if you care enough to keep yourself in that state for yourself or someone else. Religion itself is the most ridiculous construct ever created - closely followed by money. I valued it growing up in a church-forced childhood, and even when I lost it there was value. Looking back, it is a silly stigma we place on boys and exponentially more on young girls.
0 1 0 0You touched on an important point, it’s more important for religion to control women’s sexuality then men.
I mean, otherwise we'd take over ;)
I’ve heard that female controlled cultures are very sexy 😉😉
Toxic purity culture and historical oppression of women.
0 0 0 0Yes exactly
I have always preferred a open and sexually adventurous woman, my wife was considered a slut, but I didn't care and 50 years later, I still don't care

3 15Nice try girl, virgin girls are not sluts, sluts have a low value, it makes sense.
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NatureAdoresAVirgin0 0 0 0Right? That’s almost as weird as religious obsessions with dick skin.
0 0 0 0And a woman vagina apparently
For me as I want a virgin guy, it's not a man made construct. I just don't want a guy who has been with many girls and who will remember his times with them, because remembering is probably inebitable.
I want a guy who places importance on sex too, because I place some importance to it.
I try not to judge others, but just when it comes to a partner I would prefer it like that.0 2 0 0Religious people are obsessed with virginity. Not religions.
You can read the Gospel to see whom Jesus consorted with.0 0 0 0I’ve read the bible, I find it interesting but full of contradictions and opinions of man
There is nothing contradictory about its essential message. Folks get all caught up in the trivial for political reasons.
Paul and Jesus had a completely different message
Religious texts are old. Virginity was desirable because it meant the woman was neither pregnant nor infected with an STD. Women were married in their teens so remaining chaste for a couple of years after puberty was reasonable. It’s absurd when people marry in their mid-twenties in an age of effective contraception and testing.
0 0 0 0Why should anyone get married to have sex? Isn’t sex a personal choice not a directive for religion to control? Can’t people manage relationships without religion dictating morality
Because when the ancient texts were written, sex was a lot riskier. Women married soon after puberty to maximize their chance of successful reproduction. Conditions today are considerably different. Women may be unmarried for a decade or more after puberty. Few are willing to abstain for decade. I didn’t say that they should.
So why can’t we discard these archaic texts for scientific reason and sound medical studies?
It isn't, as long as you do it within a marriage with responsibility.
1 0 0 0I don’t have a problem with marriage, however why is the contract of marriage the only place for sex?
Because with sex, come responsibilities too, marriage handles that well. Marriage within religion guarantees security, both financial and emotional. It is not just a license to have sex, it's so much more.
So I’m not married, I have regular sex with my partner and support my kids. Explain to me where religion needs to fit in?
That's a general value that became part of religion
0 0 0 0It means nothing and serves no purpose to propagate purity through sexual abstinence
No idea, thankfully it isn't in mine.
0 0 0 0I used to identify myself as Evangelical Christian, they did purity rallies and father daughter pledges creeepy
That is quite creepy. I don't want to know what a father daughter pledge could entail. Sounds molesty
It’s where a girl promises he father she won’t have sex until she’s married
I disagree with your premise.
0 0 0 0because the religion that you most likely are refering to comes from a time where people married 13 year olds and where birth control was not a thing.
0 0 0 0Who says it is?
0 0 0 0If it doesn't mean anything then lucky you. So many hot strippers and escorts for you to marry with little to no competition! Strangely though men like you dont want those women for some reason.
0 0 0 0What kind of man do you think I am?
One who doesn't care about the insane man made construct of ones sexual history.
I guess that’s partly true
They’re obsessed with sex, period. Who should have it. How, why. Most of the time, it’s old men with any young girl they want. Sick fcks.
0 0 0 0Coz all ibranic religions borned on middle east and their roots on babilions and asyrians.
Asyrians invented women humilty and slave of men.
And this women humilating culture all Europe asia america etc with ibranic religions.0 0 0 0Perhaps I did generalize a bit, but one cannot help notice the preoccupation of religion with controlling sexual activity
Commodity? that's a bizarre viewpoint, "Family Units" are the cement that holds society together... Society/Religion encourages Monogamy, not random un-protected sex... Grow Up. Single women with 10 kids each and NO husband would be a good thing in your mind?
0 0 0 0No my question is why religion wants to control are sexuality
sexual activity... not sexuality, if Men were in charge... all women would be whores
That’s a disgusting 🤢 viewpoint and totally misogynistic
Agreed. Religion is all about the control of private lives by the clergy.
0 0 0 0Actually, you gave the answer, but you did not understand the event or you misunderstood.
What you see as a hole, religion has actually considered sacred. How do you know it's holy? If it wasn't for him, you wouldn't be either. It's that simple and if you think a little more, which one is easy to do, break the virginity or protect it?
These examples increase.0 0 0 0By HIM I assume you mean Jesus, why should I care about about the opinion of a fist century carpenter?
I actually meant "every". I typed wrong. Why should you care about the 1st century carpenter In fact, I'd like to tell you this much. whether you care or not. Use your mind. Compare the facts and you will understand the truth.
Read the bible, made the conclusion it’s mostly a man made concoction of stories and writings
If it’s a man made construct then why is it valued in religion? It makes you wonder if it’s not a man made construct at all.
