Why is trump being indicted?

I’m no supporter of his, I’d consider myself a moderate. My question is why is he the first politician going through this? There have been many politicians who abused their power, but never went through this. I guess I don’t understand how paying a porn star not to talk about your relationship is breaking a law. I know many many examples where famous people have done similar things, when that didn’t happen to them. I don’t care if he goes to jail honestly, but I wanna know why Hillary didn’t go to prison for Bangazi? I think they’re all crooks and in it for their own financial gain. Donald Trump is not the first politician to be indicted. Many politicians have been indicted and have gone to prison.

The extraordinary thing here is that Donald Trump is the first former President being indicted.

But, it's important to note that he is being indicted to a large extent for his actions before he was President. Specifically, he falsified business records an alleged 34 times. Since The Trump Organization is a New York business based in Manhattan, the falsified records involved his company. The Trump Organization was convicted last year of some issues, but that did not taint Trump himself directly. However, in this recent indictment, he is implicated; his alleged actions were unlawful.

I wrote a MyTake about it yesterday:
The Charges in New York Against Donald Trump ↗

About some of your other comments:

    1. "I guess I don’t understand how paying a porn star not to talk about your relationship is breaking a law."

    It's not.

However, falsifying business records to do so __IS__ breaking the law.

In a nutshell, among the various charges, here's what happened:
Trump had the affair with Stormy Daniels, porn star.
She was going to go public with this in 2016 when Trump was running for President.
So, they bought her silence. If they just said "Here, Stormy. Here's $200k (or whatever) if you just don't say anything." that might be legal, but it would still be an admission of the affair and that would hurt Trump's popularity. (In reality, probably not, but that's what he believed and he's right to think that.) So, instead, they had to pay her off in a way that doesn't look like Trump paid her.
So, he had his lawyer, Michael Cohen, pay her. Then, Trump personally reimbursed Cohen for his "legal services" to Trump (the Trump Organization, I believe). Since Cohen didn't actually perform any legal services for the Trump Organization in this regard, the business records associated with that payment and those fictitious legal services are falsified business records.

And that's why Trump's in hot water. There are witnesses against him including Cohen and Daniels and evidence includes personally signed checks.

All of that is a misdemeanor, not a felony. But this got escalated because the nature of these secret payments was to affect an election and that, allegedly, is unlawful, but there is no indictment on this yet.

    2. "I know many many examples where famous people have done similar things, when that didn’t happen to them. "

Well, yes, but most of them aren't running for elective office or have billion-dollar companies to hide their misdeeds.

    3. "I don’t care if he goes to jail honestly, but I wanna know why Hillary didn’t go to prison for B[e]ngazi?"

Why should she? What law you feel she had broken? Give me a law and then we can talk about it.
Regardless, Hillary Clinton and Bengazi are completely irrelevant to Trump's case. That's how the law works. Learn that.

    4. "I think they’re all crooks and in it for their own financial gain. "

That's not so. Many politicians went into the field to do public good and they genuinely believe that and want to give back. Washington didn't become President for the money. I don't even think Trump did it for a business move although, in principle, his becoming President could have affected his bottomline... and did... For him, I think it was primarily and ego trip but, also, as much of a lying asshole as he can be, I do believe that he believes he was trying to do good for the country.

  • Seems like that same bullshit to me over Clinton getting a BJ when I was growing up. Puritan people, you know. "How could you get a blowjob? Disgusting! How is this man even our president?" They're a bunch of faggots (I use "faggot" in the 80s sense, not to reference homosexuals -- welcome to my own language, "bitch"!).

    • I think by "faggot", I mostly mean people who are like kindergarteners. Like people who need safe spaces and trigger warnings.

    • Same with "retard'. That is one I got a lot of flak about but I mean like people who don't know the difference between seducing a woman and raping a woman. You know, retards! I'm not talking about people who somehow can't avoid sticking their tongues out when they talk like, "Urrrhggh! I shink thish and shink that!" while fondling their nurses, only escaping rape because their nurses can just step one foot away to avoid being raped. And people these days are like. "That's so offended! You shouldn't call them retards. You should call them 'mentally handicapped'." WTF? Isn't that even worse? And that makes it sounds like way more people are retarded.

  • Trump isn't going to jail... The deep state is desperate. They know they are fucked so they're doing everything to try to delay their arrest for treason and eventual execution. They've already lost. They are just buying time.

  • The first politician? Hardly. You can read the indictment and statement of facts.

  • Because the Biden regime doesn't want him running

    • because they do want him running... tainted.

    • @lightbulb27 he's more popular than ever. It's gained outlaw status
