Why is being a slut such a bad thing? I mean seriously this is isn't the 1950s anymore, these slut shamers need to grow up and stop being so immature and sexist and realize that women want sex just as much as men, so stop being such fake Victorian prudes.
When a guy sleeps around he's a stud but when a woman does it she's a whore. Talk about double standards.
And why is slut even a word? I don't see any words that specifically defines a man having many casual sex partners yet a woman does. This is the purest form of sexism. The fact that this word is even in the dictionary is revolting.
Society has created this twisted image of approval to abide by, when there's no apparent reason to. Yes you can get pregnant or get an STD but you can also do both of those without being a "slut." This debate about promiscuity is about judging and shaming people, thinking that you know what’s best for them better than themselves. Well, sluts don’t need your disapproval or advice on how we should live our lives. We’re quite capable of making our own, terrible drunken decisions. What I can't however deal with, though, is your disapproval. I don’t know why, but for some reason people just love to cram their beliefs down your throat.
I like getting compliments and attention from guys, I like being desired and I like having sex. And to shame someone for doing something that comes naturally is just beyond absurd.
So what if a woman has sex with more than one man or likes taking it up the back door. It's their life, they can do whatever they want with it, and that does not make them a whore. Heck a woman can have sex with a hundred men at once and you still shouldn't judge them. Unless that woman is genuinely a bad human being, you have no right to judge her as a person. Yes you're entitled to your opinions but that doesn't mean you have the right to flaunt it around.
Yes being promiscuous can result in you getting hurt, you can get STDs or become pregnant or worse, but there are preventative measures you can take like using condoms every time and getting on the pill. If you take proper precautions you'll be just fine, there is however always a slight chance of getting pregnant or catching a STD but you probably have a higher chance of dying in a car accident than getting either of those. It's like saying you shouldn't get on a roller coaster because it could derail and get you hurt or killed but that doesn't mean you should stop having fun just because there's a less than 1% chance of it happening.
The word slut has been taken out of context so badly that it's used everywhere without people even being aware of the meaning. A woman dressed provocatively in public? She must be a slut right. A girl who flirts with all the guys in school? Oh she's definitely a slut. A girl who posts half-naked selfies? Oh man she must be a whore. I mean seriously what does clothing have to with being a slut or flirting or taking selfies. People are so conceited that they resort to calling women sluts (a word that obviously has a negative connotation attached to it) so they could shame them just because their still stuck with views from the 60s.

However, those who do shame women who are extremely promiscuous, probably do so because a woman having that much sex signals no self control.
Girls do get criticized more for their sexual choices than men but it is wrong to assume guys don't get criticized at all.
Men will only sometimes gets congratulated for sleeping around, and it is only by other men. Women DON'T congratulate men for sleeping around. They are either indifferent or in many cases they will write the guy off and not want to date him.
Everyone has a right to make their own choices but nobody is immune from judgement or criticism. Just like you have a right to eep around, other people have a right to form their own opinion about your actions and potentially refuse to date you.
why are people so obsessed with this on this site? Like seriously just read up on the pertinent info, like the odds of being depressed being higher and very low chance of getting married, and go make your life choices, NO ONE CARES.

I think you wrote this just to justify your own actions... you can do all you want.. people can judge all they want.. at the end of the day.. sex is a huge thing.. at least for me.. and I would not want a guy who fucked every hole he could find.. if there was likeness then that's another case..

Nobody is really slut-shaming you. In the west, anybody that wants can have sex. If you really care what batty old women and conservative prudes think, you can be discrete.
Realistically though, 'slut-shaming ' is a made up issue.
You can't force people to accept you. All you can do is be yourself and not care what other people think.
You shouldn't worry about strangers but you've got a duty to your friends and family to behave a certain way. Think about the kids you'll have. Think they'll want to hear their mum was anybodies for a drink? I've seen kids growing up with parents who didn't give a shit and they suffered badly for it. No-one willing to sacrifice anything for others now. They just think I want want want and fuck everybody else
Let me just point this out. Sex in a relationship is okay. However, anything outside of a relationship is what I would consider the "no go zone" for anyone. If a girl had had sex outside of a relationship, I don't care if you're mother Theresa, I will not touch you.
Protip: You are responsible for your own actions. If people cal you a slut, because you sleep around then tough life. You choose that path, now deal with the consequences.

yes the 1950s are over but still slut shammers will always be around no matter what. the key is to ignore them and rather than taking them serious just analyze that they are trying to shame you for a reason, maybe that reason is jealousy or envy.

You can't be a slut. Act like a slut get treated like a slut. Act like a lady get treated like one. If I meet a girl and I heard she's anybodies after a drink I'll do her but there's no way I'll want to keep seeing her. Most guys would just treat her like any port in a storm kinda way. Then again behave how you want but don't go whining when people treat you funny. Some women just can't get their head round the fact that there's compromises in life. No-one can have everything.

I've dated hookers with hundreds of partners, none of them every had STDs and neither have I (I have had many partners too). You know why? We practice safe and responsible sex because we are educated and ethical. The people I know who have had STDs are the ones with 2 or 3 partners. They think they are holier than thou and it would never happen to them. They were taught sex improperly and believe in all sorts of random myths. But that is fine, I will take all the sluts and you can keep in it Palmela Handerson tugging to what ever it is you love to watch (sluts I assume)... Good call.

I agree. Women have come a long way with sexual independence since the decades past. They should perhaps do away with that word. I would like to point out though, that lots of views in the 60's (and that was before my time too) WERE the same as yours... ours. The so-called "hippies" would have been like "Right-on man. Free love." (most that is.) There has ALWAYS been that sect of any society that pre judges and condemns the liberal "looser" more sexually active. They're the prudes, squares, right-wing authoritarian oppressors who keep us back. Forget them, and let's live our lives our way.

Saying your clothing has nothing to do with being a slut is like saying wearing a gun has nothing to do with my ability to defend myself.
There are things that link up logically in ways that many people understand, there are patterns you can observe that tend to play out the same way, now that sometimes isn't the case, but it often is.
If you follow society then you're always going to be wrong, many people conflict with each other, and many others don't have any idea what they're doing.
What you want to do is completely up to you, but there will often be consequences, and if you choose to ignore that fact then things could become quite hard for you in life. Just a caring tip.
