Why online pornography should always have age verification.

This is pretty simple. Children on average are exposed to online pornography before they even hit puberty.. this makes them easier prey for pedophiles.

This is a reflection of the demons who want your children.
This is a reflection of the demons who want your children.

Also you were not allow your child to hop in a plane and see anything in the world anytime they want, right? Do you want them to see public executions or people fucking? Because that is what the internet allows.

By forcing websites like PornHub to require age verification and in general putting up age barriers in the internet, we can protect children from being able to look up whatever they want and see the evils/perversions of the world before they are ready.

Also the internet is like being in public. You wouldn't want people show porn in public, would you?

  • The problem is that its difficult to create an age verification scheme that doesn't also allow the website to have the users identity. Nothing is safe from hacking - even the NSA was hacked, and its probably the worlds best funded security agency.

This is different from walking into an adult theater or bar because there, if you show your drivers license the data is not recorded. You would see if it was. But if you enter your ID at a porn site, there is no practical way to know if that was recorded. (there are some deeply technical ways to deal with this, but no one in their right mind would trust them).

What does it matter? Because our society is really weird about sexuality. There are things that are completely legal, yet frowned upon. Imagine if the kinks of a candidate for a major office were released. Especially imagine if its a female candidate.

Families with children should already know to have web filters. Ouside of the home, children will steal id's of various sorts and see porn anyway if they want to.

I don't think its good for children to see porn, but I also don't think its anywhere near the biggest risk to children today.

    • This is one of the best counter arguments I have heard so far. I do think there is something wrong about when my buddy's 11 year old daughter has already seen beastiality though.

    • *about all of this

    • I do agree its a big problem - thought I thought things like children and bestiality were illegal and not available on the general web - though I'm sure not doing a search to find out Its possible there is some technical solution that doesn't allow the vendor to see you identity, but I haven't seen it yet

  • Seems like those proposals are always met with…”How?” PornHub already has a pop up asking if you’re 18…I’m told.

But honestly like violent movies, I don’t think porn viewing is that problematic. In small percentage of males get addicted and go onto stronger, horrible shit…but I’d argue that’s their personality not the access.

The real fight is destroying any vestiges of kiddie porn. Some don’t realize kids have to be abused for that porn to be made. So just watching it is vile and felonious, obvi.

    • I don't think letting kids see sex or people being killed in public is acceptable.

    • Opinion. I wouldn’t take my kid to an R rated movie. But I’ve seen them there. And it’s the parents decision. Just like tranny kids. So either become big govt gestapo dick heads or let parents do their thing.

    • Well I am saying we should have the same laws for public spaces as we do for the internet. No indecent exposure, no showing kids murders and so on.

  • Minors will always lie about their age if it means gaining access. Unless you want to go into the very tricky realm of censorship with exception to putting government verified documents on any age-restricted website then I think you’re a well-intentioned but not well-thought-out planner in this regard. I lied about my age all the time on the internet if it meant I could possibly see something dirty. I doubt I was the only 12 year old to do that.

    • Very well said.

    • That's pretty much my view on that. Most little shits who wanna browse these sites are gonna lie about their age and the smart ones will keep their heads low and their mouths shut precisely for the reasons the OP listed. I should know. I was one of those little shits, and yeah making it so you need verifiable ID to browse certain sites is something that nobody is gonna be happy with.

  • I think it should have age verification so that old farts aren't allowed in.

This way, joe biden will get off the porn and finally accumulate enough man juice to approach me.

I know he is my soulmate already 💓💓💓

    • What?

    • It's a parody account, don't think too deeply on it.

  • All you need is a VPN and you change your location out of the US. I actually tried it and it works.

    • ID verification is a thing.

    • Yes, it is BUT if you live in the US you can navigate around the need to verify your age. The secret is to change your location to a foreign country like the UK so your porn will be in English.

    • Then this standard would need to be global but a global government would be way worse than anything pornography could do.

  • I'm honestly surprised sometimes that feminists and communist (the leaders of identifying inequalities in our society and urging liberals to fix the identified problems with policy proposals) don't advocate for naked bodies to be displayed for the sake of inclusiveness.

To me it's the logical conclusion. We have all this media inundating us since we were children, as to what is attractive and what is disgusting.

If we saw naked bodies of all kinds since childhood, we would know that most bodies are unattractive.

I would think they would believe that anyways. I'm calling it here and now! Let's see in 10 years if I'm right.

    • Well, they are heavily pushing Lizzo’s almost-naked body on us due to feminism and intersectionality…

    • Now that is a hideous monstrosity.

    • Yes, and it is deeply subversive. It is not good to be shallow, but it is also bad to erode standards of health and beauty, which generally signals health and fertility. Most healthy bodies are not ugly. So why do our elites (may they be cleared out) try to force attraction toward unhealthy bodies? They wish to weaken and corrupt the people.

  • I totally agree.

  • This would be a good idea but kids would find away around it. They are super smart. Probably just show their parents ID or enter their birthday. Whatever the age verification required

    • Online it should just be removed

    • it is very hard to get your parent's ID every time you need to log in and you need to hold it up next to YOUR face on the webcam so that wouldn't work anyways we really are at the point where this is a solved issue. louisiana has already implemented it and it works fine

    • @007kingifrit what about for kids that are spiting images of their parents? Like my oldest son looks like a clone of my husband. All my others boys look similar to him as well. Could easily take his ID and probably pass through without much issue

  • Fr when we're kids we're not entirely mature for content yet even I sadly have done that as a kid cuz everything is so accesible

  • And what does that age verification do? teach kids how to do math (current year minus 21)... show me a kid dumb enough to get stumped by age verification and i'll show you a kid that wasn't smart enough to turn on the computer

    • You could require them to verify their ID and their picture along with that ID.

    • There's 50 state driver's licenses in the U. S. alone and all the foreign ID cards, wouldn't be hard to "get one" that passes muster for the camera's icon recognition

    • The sites are making you create an account in order to access it. They use 3rd party information clearing houses to verify basic information. All you need is a VPN to bypass this requirement.

  • the solution is parental control by parents preventing access to dirty sites by making policy on the home computers and kids smart phones

  • I remember being 12 or 13, clicking the "Yes, I am 18 " button

    • I thought the FBI was gonna swoop in and arrest me every time I did it, but I still took the risk... for boobies

    • I'm actually insulted you guys think I would implement such a dumb verification process. You should have to verify your ID.

  • Something needs to be done about it. When I taught 9th graders, they were discussing porn in class before I told them to knock it off.

  • A better solution is for parents to do parenting... monitor what their kids do and teach them what is right, and what is wrong.

  • What technical mechanism would you propose to verify age on websites like pornhub?

  • The way to do that is with a credit card with a matching user name. Minors rarely can get them.

  • Agreed. The issue is that currently that verification is a credit card so it gives access to financial information. Next thing will be government run porn sites for increased control. And with the UN suggested reclassification of pedophiles as "minor attracted persons" that's a very bad idea

  • What about anonymity? What about practicality?

  • I'm not against with it or something but letting them watch porno at young age? Its should be taught at home as well as in school for them to know more about it. Sex education is a must. It should be teach at early age as well. As the internet is easier to use now a days we don't know what they're browsing.

Though we don't like them to see it at some point they will for sure. So teaching and letting them know beforehand is better.

So having these age verification is a must

  • Yes, one should require photo identification in order to go on porn sites, to stop the minors from being able to go on them sites.

  • Yes I agree to this porn should be 18+

  • Kids would have no problem getting around it. Most parents are clueless.

  • It sounds good in theory, but the tech behind real age ID is both intrusive, and expensive. Do you really want to have to give your ID information to some sketchy porn site? This is in fact a form of censorship and a barrier for adults to get content that they chose to see. Sure kids shouldn't be on adult sites, that is plane, but to penalize adults in the name of "protection" is just trying to enforce morality upon them.

Remember the Ashley Madison data breach? Imagine if PH was breached and all of those real IDs suddenly became public? Even worse what if their search history was connected? Do you really think it's in the publics best interest to know what our public figures search for in the privacy of their own bedrooms? What adults do behind closed doors should remain private, as you so pointed out we don't want people's private moments exposed.

Also censorship stifles innovation, p*rn and it's ilk have always been early innovators and adopters. You really don't think the web would exist without it do you? S*x bots are driving both AI and robotics, and here you are... SHUT IT DOWN!!! No, adults should keep their kids safe, it's not the job of the government or any other regulatory body.

And if you are one of those that thinks that no one should be on those sites, well who are you to dictate others morality?

---- full disclosure I own an adult website, I've looked into this tach and it would break me. ---

  • They all do, you click yes and it lets you in

    It's literally this gate

Why online pornography should always have age verification.
