Because the word "sin" means it's against the will of your deity. I'm not familiar with any religious text that bans sex. Specific types of sex, sure, but not sex itself. Outside of religion, sex is our primary reason for existence. As living creatures, we exist to multiply and survive. Sex is how you do that. So sex is actually the opposite of sin.
