Why sexual crimes have much more female victims than male victims?

An estimated 7.9% of males and 19.7% of females universally faced sexual abuse before the age of 18 years
and in the US Approximately 20 percent of girls (1 in 5) and 8 percent of boys (1 in 12.5) will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday (Pereda et al, 2009)
Only 1 out of every 10 rape victims are male.
1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime (14.8% completed, 2.8% attempted).4
About 3% of American men—or 1 in 33—have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime.82% of all juvenile victims are female. 90% of adult rape victims are female.6
Females ages 16-19 are 4 times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault.
Globally, an estimated 71% of enslaved people are women and girls, while men and boys account for 29%.
UNODC figures indicate that of those victims detected by law enforcement, almost 80% were being trafficked for sexual exploitation. Although victims are predominantly women and girls, men and boys are affected as well.

    • so true

What Girls & Guys Said

  • I think few males who are victims of male/male rape, or female/male rape will report it because of the bias against men being homosexually raped or raped by women. And look at the percentage of women who report sexual assaults: 36 percent. Of those, only 12 percent get convictions.. Another reason so few people even BOTHER. I personally know a woman who was raped by a colleague but didn't report it because she knew she would be blacklisted in her male dominated field! He probably knew too!

    • women also dont report it

    • Exactly what I said. The other problem. Most people are raped by people they KNOW. Only 10 percent are raped by strangers... Think of that! An uncle, an aunt, someone who lives down the street or who you see regularly... Who wants to report THAT and be threatened by it every fucking day of their lives... IT's also very difficult for someone YOUNG to report this. THink of all the women and young men who never reported Kevin Spacey or Weinstein or Cosby... Who would believe them, No1. Or young men humiliated by being raped by their mothers or aunts...

    • what do you mean shortly?

    • Show All
  • It's cause makes never report it. 90 percent of men feel humiliated and can't ask for help so it goes unreported and usually happens again. Most rape cases with men are never one time crimes.

    • women and girls also dont report it but %90 victims are girls

  • Check your facts. An estimated HALF of all rape accusations are FALSE, and the FBI has proven by positive evidence that at least 10% of all rape accusations that actually go to trial are FALSE.

    • puhahaha, nooo lol no

    • Check the FBI website then. About 40% of U. S. women between the ages of 18 and 45 claim in blind polls to have been raped at least one time, but everybody knows that's a fucking lie too. But anyway, check the FBI website, because it's stated there multiple times.

    • By the way, female psychopathy almost never gets reported, because nobody believes the man until 10 or 20 years after the fact anyway, and because female psychopaths almost never leave any forensic evidence.

    • Show All
  • Whats worse is unreported ones can happen because they dont want others to know it happened to them, the won't be believed, made to feel it was owed or they were obligated, if it would negativity effect others close to them. Unfortunately verbally communicating is the only way to be sure your not mistaking situation or body language even if you think you know for sure. Also why its easy to claim rape without any actual explicit consent

  • From what I have read academically, it's because women use innocence and submissive a lot when encountered, crazy I know. That's what I've read but a lot of men also dont report there violated sexual encounters.

    • hmmm true

  • Those statistics have been debunked multiple times, FBI statistics show that the rate of women being raped is 1 in 1,900. The rate for men being raped is much higher when you include prisons and jails. The statistic you're showing was a poll in college where rape wasn't defined and was conflated with flirting. And over half of all rape accusations from women are completely false, while the most unreported crime is men being raped, and it's also not taken seriously at all, especially in prison where the guards will likely just laugh.

    • do you believe in what you said!! your claims are completely absurd and you dont know how common rape among women! shut up

    • I do, actually because the FBI told me how common it is. I stated the facts, facts don't care about your feelings and neither do I.

  • Because female are the more desired sex and more men are aggressive into taking sex without permission than women are.

    • I was gonna give a similar answer.

    • yesss

  • Because men are usually stronger and more expensive.

    • Expensive? wasn't proof reading. Stronger and more aggressive. Jeez!

    • yes men are stronger

  • Partly because many men who are sexually assaulted are too proud & embarrassed to report when they have been assaulted.

I'm sure it's not the only reason, but it's one of the most common reasons.

    • women dont report it but women still comprises %91 of rape victims

  • because men are strong
