Why shouldn't porn be ban?

My experience with porn is mostly a negative one. Other than fap content their isn't much else porn can be used for unless your older which would more than likely be used for as ideas rather than fap content. For young adults, mostly men but some women. Porn can be addictive but for some like myself it can become like a drug. I was exposed to porn as early as 9 to 10. I became a addict, it ruin my life in far more ways than one. Still recovering from it but this isn't about my sob story its about rather or not we need to put more age restricted laws in place to keep kids from seeing this. When did parents stop watching what their kids do like come on, a child should not be exposed to such things. So now I ask you what do you think should be done about the porn business?

  • I'm not into the idea of old, rich, morally bankrupt, hypocritical politicians restricting people's rights. I'd rather live with the inherent pitfalls of liberty and work to find solutions to problems that don't include thuggish legislation.

Regarding kids and porn, I don't have a solution. Aren't there apps that allow parents to restrict access to certain content? But even with that, kids are much more tech savvy than parents and can find ways around restrictions.
I wouldn't be in favor of requiring people to provide proof of identity to access information.

When I was a teen, we had Playboy and other printed material. At that age, I spent half of my time wanking off. But I didn't even need images for inspiration. LOL
I did taper off a bit when I started having girlfriends at age 16.

Granted, porn has some pretty sick imagery and gives kids terrible examples of what sex is all about. It's too bad that there are virtually no good examples on porn sites. I don't know what's wrong with those muthafuckers. The producers are perverts after easy money, the male stars hate women, and the women are all prostitutes. None of them know what it is to be healthy and normal.

The only possibility is having personal phones that are for calling and texting but have no internet access. That would be healthy for kids for a number of reasons. Or have spyware for parents so they can see every single thing the kids do with their phones and computers, other than phone calls. That seems healthy, too.

I don't think there is anything unnatural or wrong with masturbating. And access to images of human bodies is a form of sex education.

I'm more concerned about schools teaching young, impressionable children to question their natural gender, that trannies and transvestites are cool, and how to butt fuck and suck dick. Where are the healthy role models?

  • If your parents failed you by not keeping you away from porn as a child, that's not anyone else's fault but your parents.

Porn is for adults, and adults have the right to make it, and to consume it. As an adult, you get to decide for yourself, and so does everyone else. That's part of being in a free country: SELF responsibility. The absolute last thing we need or should want is to make things illegal just because some don't like it or don't prefer it. That's a very slippery slope, and it wouldn't be long before all kinds of things that are important to you would be banned because someone else didn't like it.

Take responsibility for yourself and for those you are responsible for, and leave everyone else alone.

  • I don't really think you can ban porn. Watching porn doesn't do anything to me so I would never need it. But other people might and that's fine with me. But most safe porn sites have an +18 warning on them so if a child clicks on it then they can be sent back to safety (it's when you click that you're under 18). But if a child proceeds to look at an adult site then there's not much that can be done I think. Only thing that can be done is if a parent catches them. The only thing I could think of is just selling porn by DVDs or something. But even that won't work since the porn industry is made up of lots of things (porn you watch, literature, toys, etc.). It would probably decrease it online but not entirely.

  • I don’t watch porn as it doesn't do anything for me sexually but I will say that it does a lot more than you think it does. Great example is hd-dvd vs bluray. Porn chose to go to bluray and single handedly killed hd-dvd as a format. Porn was also the reason we have subscriptions to online websites as a whole, not just porn.

You can debate the morality of it, but to say it does nothing useful is kinda incorrect.

    • Porn had virtually no impact on the format war - Blu-Rays have never sold even 10% as many units as DVDs, even though DVD should have died out a decade ago. It was the Playstation 3 that was the single biggest factor, though there were others. HD-DVD was based on DVD tech, and like DVDs, was easy to scratch. Blu-Rays not only hold more (quite a bit more with multi-layers), but they also have an extra protective coating of super-hard and scratch-resistant material that makes Blu-Rays hold up much better to poor handling. But the PS3 being in so many homes meant that a ton of homes that might not have otherwise had a Blu-Ray player had one, and that resulted in a greater demand from Hollywood Blu-Ray titles, and Blu-Ray already started with 3/5ths of the studios. The other 2/5ths switched to Blu-Ray in less than a year, because of demand caused by PS3 users, and thus Toshiba ended up losing $1.2 Billion on HD-DVD.

    • Where Sony blew it on Betamax, they made up for it with the release of Blu-Ray. Similar to Betamax, HD DVD's quality was technically higher, while Blu-Ray simply held more information. Which meant more behind-the-scenes footage, more deleted scenes, more actor commentary, all naked. Blu-Ray's victory was ultimately decided when the porn industry started using Blu-Ray as the standard for high-definition.

  • Because if you follow THAT logic, we'd also have to ban guns and alcohol and knives and moving your arms. You don't ban something just because it offends you or you feel harm can come from it.

And at this point, I'm genuinely torn as whether the required sexual repression or the required government overreach is the last thing we need right now. Our culture has serious problems with how it views sex, no argument here, but the solution is MORE information, not less.

    • I said for kids not for adults. Plus I also said we should have restrictions for kids not for adults

    • You asked "Why shouldn't porn be ban?". But perhaps you meant "restricted". How? Restrictions? Like what? Like not selling porn to kids? Already a law. Like requiring verification before a website lets you see porn? Already a series of laws. You can't keep kids away from this stuff by making it illegal; that's never worked once in human history- even BEFORE the internet came along.

  • Some call it Porn, I call it educational videos & I don’t think they should ban it especially if it’s educational.

    • For older more mature people sure go for it but not people under age

    • I absolutely agree.

  • Because if you ban porn there will be the same amount of porn, just illegal and without any control. So its better to just leave it legal.

  • There should be done something about you, as an individual (therapy is a good start, just like any other addiction)

Your personal experience should not be the parameter for all other who never had this sort of problem

  • Just because you've had a bad experience with something physically harmless, doesn't mean it has to be banned for the rest of us.

People die in car crashes, will we outlaw cars now?

  • Much respect to you for sharing your experience. I see a lot of younger men who struggle to relate to women normally because of porn. If parents would take internet access away from kids this wouldn’t be such a pervasive problem. Unfortunately, most households need all adults working and the internet seems like a convenient babysitter. Attempts to regulate internet content would be difficult to enforce and outright bans would probably create an underground, unregulated market.

    • Porn mags still exist and it's not hard to get them even more so today

  • the porn industry sexists as a result of sexual abuse. it should be banned because of that, period

    • how is it sexiest?

    • The porn industry like the biggest most profitable ones like Pornhubs only content is degrading to women and definitely solely about what men want never has it been about women’s pleasure, literally treating women like objects.

    • @laPrincesitaRoxi women put themselves their so no its not sexiest if they wanted to do it

  • porn has no negative effect on people. i found that out in a sococial study i conducted. i found out that watching porn is often the result of personal or relationship issues. it is the symptom of bad things so to speak, not the cause.

of course addiction is an issue but addiction doesn't come automatically with porn. most people that consume porn, aren't addicted. i mean cigarrettes aren't banned right? alcohol isn't banned either. even though both of those are 100% certain to CAUSE harm, not just be the result of problems like porn is.

people are responsible for their own consumption and for what they do with their free time. if you know that you are addicted to porn, it is your responsibility to stop or get help. forbidding something for everyone, just cause few people have issues is not appropriate.

  • I guess I'd be for banning it as it's degenerate but I don't really consider it super degenerate unless it's homosexual porn or something.

  • it shouldn't be banned but it should be highly regulated and more done ethically. letting the actors freely choose what to do if they wish too. because yes there are some porn stars who love it and want to do it for a long time. We also can't ban it because that will just drive it underground and people will do it illegally without any protections at all.

But it is also true that there is a lot of sexism involved and the treatment of ex porn stars is pretty abysmal too.

Things need to change, but it shouldn't ever be banned in my opinion

  • It should be banned. Hookers on camera engaging in degrading sex and doing all kinds of nasty filth.

  • Porn can be a good thing if it keeps someone from acting in person on these actions in real life. you have to understand that porn is not real but the effects can be serious on anyone. but as long as the viewer realized that it is just a fantasy and fake and entertainment it should be fine.

  • Well it’s everywhere. Even in regular shows.

  • The porn industry is a machine that's worth billions and billions of dollars.
It's too powerful to even control now.
Sure they can have regulations to limit illegal content, but to actually try and restrict all the porn addicted people from viewing porn would cause a massive reaction from the public.
The adult industry would have the politicians and law makers bought and paid for immediately to ensure that they stay in business.
