  • There are lots of pejoratives for sexually active women but none for men. That, in itself, is telling.

Some people use those words so loosely that the definitions have no meaning. It's to the point where quite a few women who revel in sexuality but don't even fit the definition of promiscuous embrace those words.
Saying "I'm a total slut" can simply mean that she loves sucking her boyfriend's cock and being ravished seven ways from Sunday.

Many years ago, I worked with a very bright, beautiful young woman who had a boyfriend. One time, she started joking about herself and using all the words she could think of like slut, strumpet, floozy, hussy, tart, etc. in the funniest way as a way of embracing those words and rebelling against cultural prohibitions toward female sexuality. She was proud of her feminine sexuality and was saying fuck you to the judgmental losers.

It's like the way some people referred to hippies as freaks and then hippies started referring to themselves as freaks as a way of diffusing the term. Or the way gays were referred to as being queer and began to embrace that word, themselves. There are other examples.

I hate it when losers call women sluts. And I celebrate women who scoff at that term and take pride in their sexuality. Let the losers be losers.

    • So anyone who isn’t a fan of overly promiscuous women is a loser 😂 I see you rely on sluts pretty heavily eh?

  • Because being a promiscuous female is shameful and most people seem to agree. If you wanna be a slut and feel empowered by it go ahead, but I’ll think what I will.

I’m not opposed to dating a younger woman with a high-ish bodycount so long as she has moved or is ready to move out of that phase…but if you’re hooking up all over the place into your mid to late 20s and you’ve passed an absurd number (like 20 or more is pretty fking absurd in my opinion) then it’s a really big turnoff. I don’t need a virgin or anything and some experience isn’t the worst thing in the world, but women are supposed to be the gatekeepers of sex

slutty women = lazy entitled men.

  • People try to shame women because of their body count. I have a friend that has only slept with 10 people amd she thinks herself a slut even though she's not. It is society

  • Because its an easy one to use and usually true..

  • I don't use it as an insult. I use it to refer to a person's promiscuous behavior.

    • Also, you were not appointed to define words for other people. If you don't want to use the word, then don't. If I want to use the word and it offends you, then that's just your problem and I'm not obligated to solve your problem for you.

    • Sorry if my question offends you lol

    • If it looks like I am offended, it is an optical illusion!

  • it pales in comparison to the laundry list of insults that can be hurled towards men

  • I'd say cause they few your lifestyle as a threat to their own, or somehow you getting it the "easy" makes them feel less accomplished in the way they got it, or they're spiteful that their approach to wait years till marriage to finally enjoy sex but you got it in months or maybe just weeks after meeting a guy.

In short I'd say it boils down to 1 of 3 things, insecurity, jealousy, or intitlement to think everyone must do things the same way they did.

  • I love being called a slut in the bedroom

    • Nice - do you like to be slutty in the bedroom too?

  • It's both 😂

Because many women don't want to be sluts, it's a title that's very damaging to a woman's life because it not only can effect a woman's career, depending on the work environment but it can also ruin their love life and that title, once it sticks, it's hard to get off so being called a slut became insulting to women and they run from it

  • Being a slut is not a state of being. It is a state of behavior.

  • It's more of an onine thing.

  • It can be both, just depends on how the word is used , and how someone reacts to it , Just like the word Fuck can be used in different ways as well. On top of a bunch of other words that can be used in different ways , When I hear the word slut , I automatically assume that person just jumps into bed with anyone , but the word slut can be sexy as well if it’s used in a sexy way , I will usually say to a girl I am having sex with Are you my slut as we are having sex

  • It is simply a word that many people find offensive. Some girls like to called it as a turn on.

  • Context matters. It's most effective, wonderfully fun and erotic when used not as an insult but as a high compliment. For example, last night I stroked and came to a picture of an amazingly sexy ass - and as I did I was thinking and imagining all sorts of things under the theme of "she is such an awesome cock slut" :)

    • ☺️☺️

    • might going to do that again very soon ;)

    • Ha ha, Cock Slut, first time seen this term

  • For me it was a compliment in bed.

  • Absolutely abstaining from it, it's an insulating human personal dignity, again against human rights charter.

  • Because we have patriarchal double standards in our society that praise men for being sexually active and degrade women for it. It's total bs

  • Because it upsets people. Why else would they use it

  • I don't consider that word derogatory. I consider it a positive personality trait.

  • Because people take it as an insult

  • I just feel slut sounds like a vulgar word like a swear word. Also I consider there are two different kinds of slut like a good slut and a bad slut. A bad slut is a girl makes a guy buy her tone if her drinks and she only has sex with a different guy every night for her pleasure only. A good slut might have a guy buy her drinks but she doesn’t sleep with any random guy and the guy and girl is both sexually satisfied.

  • Other worse that are an insult include creep, weird, freak to name a few. Womens pet insults for men

  • Well, women are starting to try and normalize it. So yeah, it’s not as powerful as if once was.

  • Offence is always taken, never given. I think it is shame that makes people take it as an insult, which tells something about the thing.
