Having been in the LGBT community for a while, this is my take on that...
I think for men to want to be a woman, some feel there is a woman 'inside' them. They feel this woman can finally come out and live, so they start dressing and then transitioning.
I know there are a women who do want to transition to a man, but the pressure from society is a little more to not do it.
Transitioning from a man to a woman is much more interesting, with hormones, surgeries - boobs and vagina, facial contouring, and electrolysis for hair all over the body.
For a woman to a man - hormones will produce facial hair, then they have to get a boob reduction or removal, and somehow make a penis.0 0 0 0

0.005% to 0.014% of boys and 0.002% to 0.003% of girls suffer from genuine sexual dysphoria. Up to 1 in 30,000 boys and 1 in 100,000 girls.
"The exact causes of gender dysphoria are not completely understood, but several different factors may play a role. Genetics, hormonal influences during prenatal development, and environmental factors may be involved. The onset of gender dysphoria is often during early childhood."
I, personally, think that there are estrogen mimicking chemicals in more of our food and water that cause boys to become more feminized. And schools are teaching young, impressionable children to question their gender. They are making LGB, transgender, sexual fluidity and alt sexuality cool. I've heard that kids, especially girls for some reason, gain popularity these days by identifying as non-straight hetero.0 1 0 0

3 8Do you have any statistics here?
0 0 0 0it's not a rocket science. Men with long hair with head band and they wear women's pants is very popular.
A person's choice in clothing does not represent what sex they desire to be :/ And since you didn't answer, I'll ask again: do you have any statistics here?
I don’t think women have an easier life.
0 0 0 0I don't think it has anything to do with picking the life they want to live because it's easier. Living as a trans person can be extremely difficult at times. I think it's more about living life as who you really are. I'm certainly not an expert though, maybe some trans people can educate us here.
0 0 0 0Mental illness is more common in men if that's true.
0 0 0 0They have easier life? I don't think harassment and objectifying most of the time is better than what we have lol
0 0 0 0They probably wish they can get laid or access sex as easily as women can
0 0 0 0Because they want to see another view
0 0 0 0they actually have a harder life
0 0 0 0I do not want to become a woman, but I sympathize with other men who feel like they want to become women because society listens to women's problems more and men get culturally and legally ignored. I think its an escapism.
0 0 0 0A lot of times it seems like if you are struggling with any other attribute or unfairness, you can get ahead or out of that almost for merely for being a woman. If a guy is larger-sized society would very rarely or not at all pay attention to him, but there are groups of guys who would admire and go after a little larger women.
In female dominant society and culture, men like to become women, but in Asian, Middle East and male dominent countries, men do not like to change gender
0 0 0 0If that is actually true.
I think it has more to do with how human genetics work, than anything else.
All humans are conceived "female". At a certain point in development the male chromosomes are introduced and the penis starts to form (This is why a penis has a "seam" running the length).
