Why Women Oppose Prostitution

I received some great feedback in my last take.

One in particular, made by @cth96190, really hit home and I wanted to expand a little bit on this, which I left completely left out of the main topic as to why regulated legal prostitution is completely beneficial to society.

Why Women Oppose Prostitution

The comment reads:

"I would like to make four observations about prostitution.
1. Prostitution is an exchange between the prostitute and her customer. Nobody is harmed, nobody is robbed. That is, or should not be, a crime.
2. I believe that prostitution provides a safety valve, in that it allows men who have blue balls to vent their lust in a way that does not harm anyone.
3. During my work as a journalist, I have spoken with prostitute and brothel owners, who all told me the same thing. What they said was that the majority of their customers were married men, who were not getting anything at home. As one prostitute said to me: "If wives and girlfriends took care of business at home, I would be out of business."
4. Women oppose prostitution because it reduces the sexual market value of women in general. This is the same reason that some women oppose pornography. If men can get rid of their sperm without having to chase women, or be manipulated by a sexless bitch at home who uses access to her vagina as a means by which she controls her man, it reduces the ability of the members of the female collective (think Borg Collective) to manipulate men and extract resources from them. If men can shoot their load without having to be a performing monkey for a woman, it means that single women will go on fewer dates. This is why the female collective will lobby politicians to criminalise prostitution."

Focusing on this last point, I want to share the thoughts I have on this and try to expand on this.

Why Women Oppose Prostitution

Firstly, we have to address the reasons women give as to why they condemn prostitution and why it should be illegal everywhere. As I pointed out in my last take, most countries that have prostitution as a legal regulated activity are better off.

1- Prostitution still has people that are victims of sex trafficking. Some women are coerced into it.

This makes me think: What a noble reason to say no, does this also mean that women altogether hate the diamond industry because of the violence and trafficking associated with it?

How would these self-righteous women react if their boyfriends told them they didn't believe in diamonds since they symbolize violence, I wonder...

Leaving all comparisons aside, I addressed this topic in detail in my last take, and how regulated prostitution has a positive impact in this regard, rather than negative.

2- Have different views on sex /Sex is a service...

...yet they find women that engage in prostitution/cam whoring/gone wild baiting/stripping all acceptable. In fact when it comes to sexual history normally they say: "as long as he is clean".

3- Guy is having sex with a woman who doesn't want to have sex.

I don't get it.

Do you think your mail man wants to deliver you mail? Do you think nurses want to wipe your ass when you are a senior citizen? And if this is the case then why would you be okay with sex workers in general?

I think we could see it as a proper profession, and a way of income by, again, looking at what happens when prostitution is legal and regulated.

4- Men that visit prostitutes are low value

Women won't admit this but if some millionaire was to say he slept with prostitutes they wouldn't bat an eye. Most male celebrities have slept with prostitutes, have had multiple orgies and slept with many women. But in the context of someone on gag is probably going to be some nerdy dude who paid to lose his virginity, or something...

Women normally would despise prostitutes, however, since we live in the age of feminism, their anger is now projected towards the men that use prostitutes. Women know men would put up with a lot less unnecessary problems if they could get laid easily and regularly. But they can't appear to be "sex negative" so they support the women that do it.

Why Women Oppose Prostitution

With all those points out of the way, we must look at what @cth96190 is talking about, which is the real reason as to why women condemn prostitution for the most part.

The crux is that prostitution puts a price on vagina. That makes most women uncomfortable, as the vast majority still, to some degree, subconsciously buy into the terrible notion that sex is a favor a woman does a man, or a reward to dole out.

See, prostitutes sell "pussy" at a wholesale rate, basically. Most women being retailers do not want you to go to the "Costco of Pussy".

Also legal prostitution devalues it. Considering most women in modern feminized countries think that all they need to bring to a relationship is sex you can see where this is going...

Back in the day women (at least high quality women) were expected to be literate, well read and have several feminine skills (like cooking, cleaning, shopping for bargains for stuff the home could use, etc...). Now if they spread their legs they're A-OK to just take half their man's paycheck and blow it on clothes, shoes and makeup.

In other words, they sell "pussy" a la carte, whereas most women are trying to get you to buy a package deal, which is a Long Term Relationship with all kinds of stuff in there that some men simply don't want or need. If men can just buy the sex, women won't be able to sell the rest of the package to gain their profit. Women don't like men having choice because, generally speaking, in the SMV the choice is zero-sum; what one gender gains, the other loses.

Prostitution increases the supply of "pussy" to the market, and therefore lowers the unit value. It's exactly the same reason that women slut shame other women, anything that gives men easy access to sex means the leverage they hold is diminished.

Everyone who has an upper hand in life develops mechanisms for protecting their advantage, sometimes subconsciously.

  • Good work on your take. This is one of the few takes I agree with on this site. 👍

& Of course the female responses were lacking of logic and one even called you a "misogynist".

    • That was to be expected.

  • Why there is no male prostitution? Why only female?

    • There is a lot of male prostitution. It is mainly young men having sex with old gay men.

    • @cth96190 Ohh really that's nice :)) here are only women

  • Believing relationships between men and women can be reduced to sexual market value.

    Mytake rejected.

    • @Blitzkrieger I would encourage you to read and spend some time contemplating the dynamic of human male/female interaction. It really is about sexual market value.

    • @cth96190 there is no such thing. Psychology =/= economics.

  • Um this generation as a whole is generally more aware. All of my friends (that wear jewelery) have lab created diamonds. I don't even use products tested on animals and I do my research to see if slavery or sweat shops were used.

I would never shame a women for having sex (nothing wrong with a woman loving sex or having lots of partners in my book) and I don't think it diminishes anything if anything value wise, it puts sex and the vagina on even more of a pedestal in my opinion but I do think it's wrong and I think the guys who buy it should be penalized. Less demand calls for less supply. Punishing the Prostitutes is wrong and doesn't fix anything, they just get replaced generally by girls who were sex trafficked, you have to follow the money and hit 'em where it will hurt... the demand.

    • I do think blood diamonds should be made illegal as well and anyone caught buying them off the black market should be penalized... if people stop guying them then the market will slowly start to unravel. No money coming in no point. So instead of hitting the people sellign it, hit the people caught buying it :D

    • Punish men who need to hire a prostitute in order to satisfy a NEED they cannot otherwise satisfy? Yes sex is a need. It has many health benefits. It relieves stress, lowers the risk of prostate cancer and exercises more muscles than any other activity just to name a couple of things. You have an extremely naive point of view.

    • @OfDeath Sex is not a need. You will not die without it-lol. As far as our species goes it's needed for offspring but recreational sex is not a need. The same physical release (ejaculation) you get during sex you can get from jerking yourself off you just WANT more so you WANT sex. It's not a need. People live without it every day. Hell people take a vow of celibacy and have for 1000s of years. This guys WANT hurts the people they want it from an that's why it's wrong, not to mention it glorifies vagina, you need it so bad your willing to pay for it. Yeah there is a problem with sex trafficking and the only way to end that is to hit the sex industry in it's demand, less demand less of a reason to go out and kidnap of force supply. Your view is pretty narrow. Your view is just their to justify your activities.

  • I've been a prostitute myself cause I needed the money and I was also curious about it. And one of my ex boyfriends was badly cheating on me and he was always saying that only real women were whores. After him I couldn't fall in love and I was even raped by my boss. So I said ok I can have a "normal" job and secretly have to fuck my boss who is one old fart just to keep it and the salary was like 800$/month or I can fully release my inner whore lol. So I started working on my own. No pimps no brothels. I'd choose my customers, only those that seemed like nice guys. It's like classy prostitution. I'd earn 1000$/night from just one guy. Some would just want an hour of sex, some wanted a full girlfriend experience. I've always met them in 5 star hotels, some have taken me out for dinners, to galleries, spa... like they wanted me to enjoy, too. I felt like they were my friends who for some reason needed me at that moment. I've never really questioned that reason. Some of them are married, some have girlfriends, with one guy I even went shopping for his girlfriend and I don't think he is necessarily bad just cause he was sleeping with me. He was a pretty handsome guy, emotional, caring and full of respect for everyone. With him I had the best sex in my life. But with some other guys there was of course lousy sex too. And then it really felt like a job. But I've never been forced to do anything. I've never been abused. My friends and family know nothing about my job and I live a completely normal life. I study, I go out with friends, from time to time I even date.
But that's me and my choice. I know that there are girls who are less lucky and not so smart. Like one girl I met abroad... She is on cocaine, drinking so much, she has no manners, she got herself involved with a bad guy, and has two little daughters with him, he's been in jail and he dumped her, and she is sleeping around with all kind of guys for so little money... She is my age, 21. She came to give me two hours of massage (that's her other job), my customer payed her for it and left. We both got naked, took drinks from the mini bar and opened up to each other completely. Her body has changed with pregnancy but still I thought she was so beautiful. She thought my customer was my boyfriend and when I told her that he wasn't, she wanted to protect me. She couldn't understand that there's no need for that, she couldn't understand why he payed for the massage. I think she's always been mistreated.

  • I don't oppose prostitution in general but the legal, safe prostitution people are dreaming about isn't all that common. There are still too many human trafficking victims and women who are forced to do it because of various reasons in sex work for me to have a positive stance on it. If that ever changes, I don't see why I should be against prostitution.

    • The reason there is sex trafficking is because prostitution is illegal. Prostitution has happened throughout the ages and is arguably just as in demand as beer. When you make it illegal, criminals latch on and uses it as a stepping stone to bigger crime. There is a similar situation with weed. When it was legalized in certain states all the criminals switched to heroine, and almost all of their income was gone because there is no demand for illegal weed anymore since it is illegal in that state. The same would happen with prostitution. Sex traffickers would not be able to make money anymore, and there would be no demand for illegal sex that would be a way higher price because sex would then be legal and cheaper.

    • @Salohcin22 where I live, prostitution is actually legal (if done according to the law) and there STILL are many cases of human trafficking, because it's cheaper, since legal prostitution requires the owners to pay health care and insurance for their sex workers. Plus, many women who are working legally get tricked into being underpaid and are forced into terrible working conditions. Again, I'm not against sex work but this is absolutely unacceptable.

    • How on earth can someone not realize that women are trafficked specifically because prostitution is illegal? If it was legal, there would be no incentive to take the risks involved with enslaving people.

  • Prostitution kinda goes against girls who are well established and want to be seen as more than meat. It makes us irritated because we see women disrespect themselves, thus contributing to bringing down all the hard work for respect we have fought for. And personally, I would not want my children exposed to it nor my daughter (if I ever had one) be influenced by it.

    • Thats because you are taught to think that way and most of that type of thinking is being taught and proselytized by the churches. If you lived in a country where prostitution is considered a decent and legal profession just like being a secretary you wouldn't feel degraded if you chose to become a prostitute. We are taught our morals, we aren't born with them. In fact we are born with a blank slate and we are taught or lean everything, even our conscience. In Germany a legal prostitute can earn 500 dollars for one date lasting one hour and those girls look like our movie stars or fashion models. Its not legal but its the same in Las Vegas.

    • @mobligator Here is my question. Before we go off my "morals" (I'm by no means religious. I just have self respect), how would you feel if men were more the desired/controversial prostitute? Society encourages women to objectify you, you have had a history of your gender being seen as inferior and not as intelligent as your female counterparts. Men throwing themselves at women and thus your gender now gets belittled. The expectations that you sleep with someone to advance in your career or the assumption that you did; disregarding your hard work and accomplishments. Yes... I could take the easy and pathetic path of opening my legs. But I don't. I look down on whores and prostitutes because it IS easy. That's not morals. That's me considering them as weak. Self respect is what I have. It would not matter what country I would be in. Laying on your back and taking it is way too easy.

  • What do you think about legalizing all drugs to reduce crime rate?

    • May as well. Have you seen some of the side effects for the legal stuff? Holy shit.

    • I would decriminalise drugs, to take the profit out of the supply of illegal drugs. Criminal empires would collapse overnight. Decriminalise use and minor possession. Require that all users obtain a prescription, which must be supplied by a pharmacist. Sell the drugs dirt cheap. Overnight, 90 per cent (plus) of crime would disappear. A personal side benefit for me would be that I would be able to obtain effective pain relief for my migraine headaches. :-) At the same time, I would implement a massive on-going public relations campaign to create in the mind of the public the image that drug users were losers with whom nobody wanted to associate. Those who began to use, or continued to use, under those conditions can overdose and die, as far as I am concerned. They are of no value to society. Indeed, society is better off without them.

    • Sex, when done right, generally doesn't cause health and mental problems.

  • I'm all for legalizing prostitution. Easiest income ever!

    • im against it.. i hate all of it... women get a pass because of Vagina... fuck that.

    • This is a good point, like women could get benefits from this anyway.

    • I agree but it ought to be regulated and required to pay taxes and submit to health inspections.

  • Well it really depends both sides are oppressors.

  • Lol this makes no sense since there is in fact also male prostitution

    • Most male prostitutes service men - especially men in the closet.

    • @Belgie "most" not all

    • Why does the fact that there are male prostitutes mean it's nonsense?

  • Bright one, I feel sorry for you because you seem to be surrounded with money loving bitches. If you ask me women manipulating men with sex is extremely low kind of behavior. Why the hell do they do that, I cannot wrap my head around it. It is extremely selfish, and obviously there is no love for her man. What kind of relationship is this? How can they live with themselves? All that for money only, really?
Same goes for married men who go to prostitutes. Why are they even in relationship? Unless they are one of those who wants to have sex with multiple partners, and their partner as well shares the view..
I am for legal prostitution because it may protect workers in the prostitution industry. There will always be demand for this kind of job, so if it is illegal we just support trafficking and abuse. However I would put it off the streets, only inside of the brothel/strip clubs. Children walk around and that is one shady part of society that should stay behind closed doors only among ones who participate.
Anyway, I wonder where are you from and how come you are surrounded by such shallow people? I assume you are rich or hanging out with richies but I may be wrong

    • Also, you are really wrong to say this: ''most women in modern feminized countries think that all they need to bring to a relationship is sex''. Women from modern feminized country are strong and they do not need the men. They are educated and they value themselves more than just sex objects. Iceland is one such example and other Nordic, Central European countries, etc. as well. However I believe USA is not as feminist as they think they are. Or maybe the people are too much into money there I don't know.. which makes them shallow (men and women)

    • You should read "The Manipulated Man" by Esther Vilar. It isn't all about money when it comes to relationships.

    • The reason that married men use prostitutes is that the law makes it financially catastrophic for men to divorce their frigid wives. In the Family Court, the man will likely lose everything and then be kept in poverty for the rest of his life by count mandated child support and spousal support payments. This is one of the reasons why a significant and increasing number of men take the decision to walk away from having anything to do with women. Any form of intimate interaction with women carries with it a 50 per cent probability of utter destruction, followed by a lifetime of poverty and enslavement. That is just marriage, or a live-in relationship. There is also the increasing risk of sexual harassment allegations (asking a woman out) and false rape allegations. Or, the man can stay home, watch porn, jerk off, perhaps use a prostitute when he feels the need and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. For a significant and increasing number of men, the decision is not difficult.

  • Don't forget how legalizing prostitution would destroy feminism too. Feminist bitches couldn't complain anymore, because no guy would bother to try and be with them. Even now, while women have total control of sex, feminists are the most undesirable kind of girls. Legalizing prostitution and giving men sexual choice would destroy them, since the only reason women have been allowed to be THAT annoying is because guys need sex.

  • Dude, we get it; you hate women. Just get a blow up doll or a sex robot instead. It's a better long-term investment AND you'll be spared from having to actually interact with a real, human woman at all.

    • how does he hate women? please, give us even one reason that makes any sense instead of this ridiculous attempt at shaming him

    • @pavlove She's completely right. His POV isn't about the real world at all.

    • I love women and I agree with what he says. The fact that I love women doesn't mean I think women are perfect. You are flawed just as we are. Why is it that loving women should make me blind to your flaws? Please, tell us what is it that he said that makes you think he simply hates women.

  • I think they disapprove of forced prostitution mostly. Your reasons against prostitution apply to both men and women who are against it. But your whole world view is the problem, and you aren't alone! And it is toxic to things like prostitution. I have a feeling your thoughts on love marriage and monogamy are similarly toxic, it just isn't the way you should think about other people...

  • "The oldest profession but also the oldest oppression."

Just FYI, in case there is anyone left who hasn't figured it out yet, the "guy" who posted the above quote here is actually a woman who has been posing as a man on GAG for several years. I'm surprise she continues to get away with it.

Anyway, nice take. I agree with most of what you wrote. It's certainly true that women who dislike prostitution and porn feel that way because it reduces their value. Put another way, it reduces their power over men. That is especially true of pornography since most men watch it today. It's a sexual outlet that is free and easily available. No woman necessary, and consequently, no money necessary.

    It's all good.
