I received some great feedback in my last take.
One in particular, made by @cth96190, really hit home and I wanted to expand a little bit on this, which I left completely left out of the main topic as to why regulated legal prostitution is completely beneficial to society.
The comment reads:
"I would like to make four observations about prostitution.
1. Prostitution is an exchange between the prostitute and her customer. Nobody is harmed, nobody is robbed. That is, or should not be, a crime.
2. I believe that prostitution provides a safety valve, in that it allows men who have blue balls to vent their lust in a way that does not harm anyone.
3. During my work as a journalist, I have spoken with prostitute and brothel owners, who all told me the same thing. What they said was that the majority of their customers were married men, who were not getting anything at home. As one prostitute said to me: "If wives and girlfriends took care of business at home, I would be out of business."
4. Women oppose prostitution because it reduces the sexual market value of women in general. This is the same reason that some women oppose pornography. If men can get rid of their sperm without having to chase women, or be manipulated by a sexless bitch at home who uses access to her vagina as a means by which she controls her man, it reduces the ability of the members of the female collective (think Borg Collective) to manipulate men and extract resources from them. If men can shoot their load without having to be a performing monkey for a woman, it means that single women will go on fewer dates. This is why the female collective will lobby politicians to criminalise prostitution."
Focusing on this last point, I want to share the thoughts I have on this and try to expand on this.
Firstly, we have to address the reasons women give as to why they condemn prostitution and why it should be illegal everywhere. As I pointed out in my last take, most countries that have prostitution as a legal regulated activity are better off.
1- Prostitution still has people that are victims of sex trafficking. Some women are coerced into it.
This makes me think: What a noble reason to say no, does this also mean that women altogether hate the diamond industry because of the violence and trafficking associated with it?
How would these self-righteous women react if their boyfriends told them they didn't believe in diamonds since they symbolize violence, I wonder...
Leaving all comparisons aside, I addressed this topic in detail in my last take, and how regulated prostitution has a positive impact in this regard, rather than negative.
2- Have different views on sex /Sex is a service...
...yet they find women that engage in prostitution/cam whoring/gone wild baiting/stripping all acceptable. In fact when it comes to sexual history normally they say: "as long as he is clean".
3- Guy is having sex with a woman who doesn't want to have sex.
I don't get it.
Do you think your mail man wants to deliver you mail? Do you think nurses want to wipe your ass when you are a senior citizen? And if this is the case then why would you be okay with sex workers in general?
I think we could see it as a proper profession, and a way of income by, again, looking at what happens when prostitution is legal and regulated.
4- Men that visit prostitutes are low value
Women won't admit this but if some millionaire was to say he slept with prostitutes they wouldn't bat an eye. Most male celebrities have slept with prostitutes, have had multiple orgies and slept with many women. But in the context of someone on gag is probably going to be some nerdy dude who paid to lose his virginity, or something...
Women normally would despise prostitutes, however, since we live in the age of feminism, their anger is now projected towards the men that use prostitutes. Women know men would put up with a lot less unnecessary problems if they could get laid easily and regularly. But they can't appear to be "sex negative" so they support the women that do it.
With all those points out of the way, we must look at what @cth96190 is talking about, which is the real reason as to why women condemn prostitution for the most part.
The crux is that prostitution puts a price on vagina. That makes most women uncomfortable, as the vast majority still, to some degree, subconsciously buy into the terrible notion that sex is a favor a woman does a man, or a reward to dole out.
See, prostitutes sell "pussy" at a wholesale rate, basically. Most women being retailers do not want you to go to the "Costco of Pussy".
Also legal prostitution devalues it. Considering most women in modern feminized countries think that all they need to bring to a relationship is sex you can see where this is going...
Back in the day women (at least high quality women) were expected to be literate, well read and have several feminine skills (like cooking, cleaning, shopping for bargains for stuff the home could use, etc...). Now if they spread their legs they're A-OK to just take half their man's paycheck and blow it on clothes, shoes and makeup.
In other words, they sell "pussy" a la carte, whereas most women are trying to get you to buy a package deal, which is a Long Term Relationship with all kinds of stuff in there that some men simply don't want or need. If men can just buy the sex, women won't be able to sell the rest of the package to gain their profit. Women don't like men having choice because, generally speaking, in the SMV the choice is zero-sum; what one gender gains, the other loses.
Prostitution increases the supply of "pussy" to the market, and therefore lowers the unit value. It's exactly the same reason that women slut shame other women, anything that gives men easy access to sex means the leverage they hold is diminished.
Everyone who has an upper hand in life develops mechanisms for protecting their advantage, sometimes subconsciously.
What Girls & Guys Said
26 32Good work on your take. This is one of the few takes I agree with on this site. 👍
& Of course the female responses were lacking of logic and one even called you a "misogynist".
That was to be expected.
Why there is no male prostitution? Why only female?
There is a lot of male prostitution. It is mainly young men having sex with old gay men.
@cth96190 Ohh really that's nice :)) here are only women
Believing relationships between men and women can be reduced to sexual market value.
Mytake rejected.
@Blitzkrieger I would encourage you to read and spend some time contemplating the dynamic of human male/female interaction. It really is about sexual market value.
@cth96190 there is no such thing. Psychology =/= economics.
Um this generation as a whole is generally more aware. All of my friends (that wear jewelery) have lab created diamonds. I don't even use products tested on animals and I do my research to see if slavery or sweat shops were used.
I would never shame a women for having sex (nothing wrong with a woman loving sex or having lots of partners in my book) and I don't think it diminishes anything if anything value wise, it puts sex and the vagina on even more of a pedestal in my opinion but I do think it's wrong and I think the guys who buy it should be penalized. Less demand calls for less supply. Punishing the Prostitutes is wrong and doesn't fix anything, they just get replaced generally by girls who were sex trafficked, you have to follow the money and hit 'em where it will hurt... the demand.
I do think blood diamonds should be made illegal as well and anyone caught buying them off the black market should be penalized... if people stop guying them then the market will slowly start to unravel. No money coming in no point. So instead of hitting the people sellign it, hit the people caught buying it :D
Punish men who need to hire a prostitute in order to satisfy a NEED they cannot otherwise satisfy? Yes sex is a need. It has many health benefits. It relieves stress, lowers the risk of prostate cancer and exercises more muscles than any other activity just to name a couple of things. You have an extremely naive point of view.
@OfDeath Sex is not a need. You will not die without it-lol. As far as our species goes it's needed for offspring but recreational sex is not a need. The same physical release (ejaculation) you get during sex you can get from jerking yourself off you just WANT more so you WANT sex. It's not a need. People live without it every day. Hell people take a vow of celibacy and have for 1000s of years. This guys WANT hurts the people they want it from an that's why it's wrong, not to mention it glorifies vagina, you need it so bad your willing to pay for it. Yeah there is a problem with sex trafficking and the only way to end that is to hit the sex industry in it's demand, less demand less of a reason to go out and kidnap of force supply. Your view is pretty narrow. Your view is just their to justify your activities.
Clearly you have no idea.
@OfDeath Because I don't agree with you I must have no idea... oh okay.
It's not me you don't agree with. You don't agree with the fact that sex is a need and should be a right.
@OfDeath So you'll die without it? A need is something like water, food, sleep, shelter from elements. Sex, esp. recreational sex is far from being a need, procreational sex is a secondary need.. you don't need it to survive but it's needed in the end for the survival of the species, sex for sex's sake is not. And you feel that you should have a right to someone else's body? So if I need a kidney I should have a right to take yours? You don't have a right to someone else.
Bodily autonomy is a right, even for the deceased. You don't even have the right to a dead person so how in the world do you think you should have a right to do what you want with a live one?
You can die of the health problems never having sex causes. Sex is extremely therapudic. It is a scientific fact. Prostitution is a mere way of offering lonely men the ability to buy their happiness and relaxation in order to live a healthier life. It is very easy to find the service which obviously never had anything to do with human trafficking.
Therapeutic
I never said one had a right to another person. I said one should have the right to obtain sex by buying it or trading for it where both parties agree.
@OfDeath Doesn't have anything to do with sex trafficking? It's the reason for it! Sex trafficking wouldn't exist if people didn't want their wants above other peoples lives. There are a lot of things that are therapeutic that don't involve the buying of someone elses body... join a yoga class... that lessens stress and is therapeutic. Physical wise the same release you get from sex can be done with masturbation. Lack of sex has never been the direct cause of a death... ever.
Site one case where lack of sex caused the person to just fall over a die.
But as the OP stated, the sex industry is not the only industry where unsavoury activities are happening and in places it is legal and regulated, this is not a problem. There will always be a black market for everything. You cannot do anything about that. Lack of sex has been the cause of death. Ever heard of suicide? Suicide because of no sex happens. Mental health is a huge issue here. Masturbation is not sufficient. No person is an island. People need other people for almost everything and especially for sex.
State one person who dies from it? You're trivialising the problem here and are not listening to the actual risks I have already told you about such as mental and physical health.
The internet is full of articles like this: www.google.com.au/.../...ot-enough-sex-1098324.amp
Such articles outline studies which suggest lack of sex can cause higher heart attack risks, higher suicide rates and other problems which set off chain reactions.
Having legal, regulated prostitution can be a huge benefit to a community.
@OfDeath Yes, but it's not right and we can do something about it. Hit it at it's demand. Simple economics. If the people selling it aren't making money there will be no reason to sell it. We can't stop sex trafficking or prostitution but we can lessen it by going after the problem, the buyer. Penalizing the buyer and not making it worth the risk, won't work for everyone but demand will go down and with that so will the need for the supply. So on the death certificate it says "lack of sex" as reason of death? No, cause of death is taking your own life which people have done do to losing their job or failing out of school. In the end suicide was a choice that that person made.. they may have felt they didn't have another choice but they did and they choose to end it. Choose to commit suicide. They should of instead reached out and got professional help. True people aren't islands. Go out and make friends, get hobbies.
You can't solve a problem like that by going after the buyer. Thats why they can never win the war on drugs. All you're doing is eliminating one person when the traffickers are still selling to 100s more. The buyer is also the one in need of the service. You cannot penalize somebody for going after what they need when it is available to them. Sex traffickers need to be stopped but safe, legal and independent prostitution is only a good thing. No need for it not to be legal.
@OfDeath Prostitution is generalizing not good for the person providing the service. Plenty of girls have killed themselves over it as well as it's not good for their mental health and same thing goes there... they choose to end it because it was too much to bare, esp. for those who didn't have a choose to become a sex worker to begin with. Masturbation is good for heart health and can also help with the heart attack thing.. sex isn't needed there, just the release.
as far as mental health goes it's sex is not needed there. Sex only helps because of the value that the person placed on it, if they find other ways to validate themselves & build self esteem then that would have the same effect tat you claim sex does.
Mental health is a serious issue. Being able to get sex or not can be the difference between choosing to end ones life or not. Fuck, you're not a very empathetic person are you?
@OfDeath I am. Where is your empathy for the people who don't choose this lifestyle for themselves? Where is your empathy for the sex worker?
Sex IS needed, it is NOT the same as masturbation. Get it through your thick skull. Look at your hypocrisy. You're saying a prostitutes mental health is important but a sex starved man's is not. Hello? Most prostitutes are doing it by choice and have no gripes with it.
@OfDeath Sadly most are not. They do it because they feel they have no other options, drug addictions and because of sex trafficking. If they were I'd agree with you that it's fine. If prostitution wasn't the kiss of death for most women in most societies I'd agree but the fact is they are treated pretty badly. Sex is not a need and what else do you physically get from sex that you wouldn't get from a good workout and a good yank? A lonely guy has the same chances of everyone as going out there and meeting someone and letting it happen naturally. If a man is putting that much value on sex and thinking that paying for it will help their lonliness then they really need to seek professional help. There are a lot of help lines out there and people who want to help.
We obviously aren't going to get anywhere. Have a good one dude.
"what else do you physically get from sex that you wouldn't get from a good workout and a good yank?" Clearly you haven't taken any of the things I've said about physical and especially mental health on board. And FYI I actually happen to know a couple of prostitutes and they do it by choice for the money. And its legal where I am.
@OfDeath And I work with abused women and have worked with sex trafficked women, haven't even helped some escape to shelters so that they couldn't be found.
And have you heard anything I said. What do you PHYSICALLY get from sex that you couldn't get from exercise and a good yank? List some...
This is some that you can from jerking off... www.thrillist.com/.../is-masturbation-good-for-you-health-benefits-of-jerking-off
@OfDeath "You can't solve a problem like that by going after the buyer. Thats why they can never win the war on drugs. All you're doing is eliminating one person when the traffickers are still selling to 100s more." Yes, if fact you can. Have you ever take an economics class? Make the risk not worth the reward. If we enact strong punishments less people will be likely to want to take the risk out of fear of being caught. If you were looking at a jail sentence or an extremely deep monetary fee, your telling me you wouldn't think twice about it? Your right some people won't care but enough will that the need for the supply will go down. It's all a money game.
But I obviously won't change your opinion or you, mine so have a good one Sir.
Sex exercises more muscles at once than any other activity. It reduces the risk of heart attack by more than double andit boosts immunity due to the physical contact. The endorphins released help with anxiety and depression. Masturbation doesn't do any of these things. I can see how you're so biased having worked with abused women but let me tell you the ones who choose the profession are doing it because they want to and those are the only prostitutes I approve of and there is nothing wrong with them doing it. They are providing a greatly needed service and they are benefiting from it.
Ugh.. Yes I have taken economics. That stradegy has and never will work because all you are doing is removing one person who isn't at all attached to the root of the problem. The police cannot track every customer. With that strategy they will catch one out of 100. Thats a 99% chance of not being caught trying to get something you want. I would take those odds no matter what the consequences. The only way to stop trafficking is to stop the traffickers themselves. Plus the addition of having the choice to legally hire a prostitute greatly diminishes the power and profits of the traffickers and acts a means of control in itself.
@OfDeath And i am fine with people who choose it, sadly far too many don't. And the only way to save them is to go after why they are forced to do it in the first place. Make it illegal and follow the money trail. Masturbation also helps heart health and endorphins released help with anxiety and depression as it is a huge stress reliever. Look up the benefits of masturbation most of what you find associated with casual sex will be there (meaning someone you don't love). Having friends, hugging love ones boost immunity not to mention it helps with closeness and self esteem so will getting hobbies and just being around people more. Masturbation also will give you a bit of a workout esp. if you couple it with a good workout routine. A sex doll will give you the same workout as sex if you throw out all the moves you would during sex, not needed but may be preferred and doesn't even require another person! Human touch is a good thing but their are plenty of other ways to get it besides sex
@OfDeath It has been proven to work because it scares other people off from doign it the goal is not to punish everyone who does it but to discourage them from doing it by making the risk not worth the reward. You may be willing to risk being on a sex registry list, say maybe a 25,000 dollar fine and or jail time but many will not. It doesn't stop the problem altogether but it does lessen it since most people won't want to involve themselves in the risks. If the traffickers aren't getting the money they want they will stop... they do it to make a profit if the money isn't rolling in then they won't be willing to take such big risks either. We could step up the way we go after traffickers as well but the best way is to decrease the money stream. I really do have to go now for real and like I said we aren't goign to get anywhere so I won't be checkign this tomorrow. Have a goodone.
None of that stuff holds a candle to actual sex, get off your high horse and wake up to yourself. Making prostitution illegal is absolutely ridiculous. It's needed in the community. Make it illegal and watch crime rates sky rocket. Having it legal reduces trafficking in of itself. I already explained that to you. Maybe if you actually listened to what I am telling you, you might learn something. I am older, wiser and have more life experience than you. I have seen what places where prostitution isn't legal are like and I have seen places where it is legal. The prostitutes in the places where it is legal are A LOT happier than the places it is not. Needless to say the customers.
Do you want to know what my actual job is? I'm a public servant working for the AFP (Australian federal police). Your idea does NOT WORK. It has been tried for years and I have seen all the stats on it. Targeted operations that isolate the traffickers themselves work. Harsher penalties for individuals do not. All that will do is overcrowd prisons and drive up the street value of the illegal product, making the criminals even richer and resourceful. When it is legal and regulated, trafficking pretty much drops off the scale all together
Anon, 7 years ago I rescued a woman from slavery. She was brought halfway across the world, probably with a promise of a new life in America, only to wind up a victim of human trafficking. She was forced to sell her body for money to make some scumbags rich. This is what happens when you allow a black market to exist, good and innocent people get hurt. You cannot 'just' target the customers, a black market would still exist in such a scenario. The only way to stop innocent young women from being the victims of human trafficking is to allow the industry to exist as it will, without intervention. It may seem distasteful, but you have NEVER had to look one of these women in the eyes and know that her life was destroyed in your vain attempt to create a utopia of sorts where people don't trade money for sex. It WILL always happen, and your attempts to control it come at the expense of innocent human lives. Don't delude yourself, your idealism is part of the problem.
@OfDeath thank you very much for sharing your wisdom. I've seen the impacts of it in person. One person, whose freedom was taken away from her. These idealists can look at numbers and shrug it off but they've never really seen the human costs of their idealism.
I've been a prostitute myself cause I needed the money and I was also curious about it. And one of my ex boyfriends was badly cheating on me and he was always saying that only real women were whores. After him I couldn't fall in love and I was even raped by my boss. So I said ok I can have a "normal" job and secretly have to fuck my boss who is one old fart just to keep it and the salary was like 800$/month or I can fully release my inner whore lol. So I started working on my own. No pimps no brothels. I'd choose my customers, only those that seemed like nice guys. It's like classy prostitution. I'd earn 1000$/night from just one guy. Some would just want an hour of sex, some wanted a full girlfriend experience. I've always met them in 5 star hotels, some have taken me out for dinners, to galleries, spa... like they wanted me to enjoy, too. I felt like they were my friends who for some reason needed me at that moment. I've never really questioned that reason. Some of them are married, some have girlfriends, with one guy I even went shopping for his girlfriend and I don't think he is necessarily bad just cause he was sleeping with me. He was a pretty handsome guy, emotional, caring and full of respect for everyone. With him I had the best sex in my life. But with some other guys there was of course lousy sex too. And then it really felt like a job. But I've never been forced to do anything. I've never been abused. My friends and family know nothing about my job and I live a completely normal life. I study, I go out with friends, from time to time I even date.
But that's me and my choice. I know that there are girls who are less lucky and not so smart. Like one girl I met abroad... She is on cocaine, drinking so much, she has no manners, she got herself involved with a bad guy, and has two little daughters with him, he's been in jail and he dumped her, and she is sleeping around with all kind of guys for so little money... She is my age, 21. She came to give me two hours of massage (that's her other job), my customer payed her for it and left. We both got naked, took drinks from the mini bar and opened up to each other completely. Her body has changed with pregnancy but still I thought she was so beautiful. She thought my customer was my boyfriend and when I told her that he wasn't, she wanted to protect me. She couldn't understand that there's no need for that, she couldn't understand why he payed for the massage. I think she's always been mistreated.
I don't oppose prostitution in general but the legal, safe prostitution people are dreaming about isn't all that common. There are still too many human trafficking victims and women who are forced to do it because of various reasons in sex work for me to have a positive stance on it. If that ever changes, I don't see why I should be against prostitution.
The reason there is sex trafficking is because prostitution is illegal. Prostitution has happened throughout the ages and is arguably just as in demand as beer. When you make it illegal, criminals latch on and uses it as a stepping stone to bigger crime. There is a similar situation with weed. When it was legalized in certain states all the criminals switched to heroine, and almost all of their income was gone because there is no demand for illegal weed anymore since it is illegal in that state. The same would happen with prostitution. Sex traffickers would not be able to make money anymore, and there would be no demand for illegal sex that would be a way higher price because sex would then be legal and cheaper.
@Salohcin22 where I live, prostitution is actually legal (if done according to the law) and there STILL are many cases of human trafficking, because it's cheaper, since legal prostitution requires the owners to pay health care and insurance for their sex workers. Plus, many women who are working legally get tricked into being underpaid and are forced into terrible working conditions. Again, I'm not against sex work but this is absolutely unacceptable.
How on earth can someone not realize that women are trafficked specifically because prostitution is illegal? If it was legal, there would be no incentive to take the risks involved with enslaving people.
Prostitution kinda goes against girls who are well established and want to be seen as more than meat. It makes us irritated because we see women disrespect themselves, thus contributing to bringing down all the hard work for respect we have fought for. And personally, I would not want my children exposed to it nor my daughter (if I ever had one) be influenced by it.
Thats because you are taught to think that way and most of that type of thinking is being taught and proselytized by the churches. If you lived in a country where prostitution is considered a decent and legal profession just like being a secretary you wouldn't feel degraded if you chose to become a prostitute. We are taught our morals, we aren't born with them. In fact we are born with a blank slate and we are taught or lean everything, even our conscience. In Germany a legal prostitute can earn 500 dollars for one date lasting one hour and those girls look like our movie stars or fashion models. Its not legal but its the same in Las Vegas.
@mobligator Here is my question. Before we go off my "morals" (I'm by no means religious. I just have self respect), how would you feel if men were more the desired/controversial prostitute? Society encourages women to objectify you, you have had a history of your gender being seen as inferior and not as intelligent as your female counterparts. Men throwing themselves at women and thus your gender now gets belittled. The expectations that you sleep with someone to advance in your career or the assumption that you did; disregarding your hard work and accomplishments. Yes... I could take the easy and pathetic path of opening my legs. But I don't. I look down on whores and prostitutes because it IS easy. That's not morals. That's me considering them as weak. Self respect is what I have. It would not matter what country I would be in. Laying on your back and taking it is way too easy.
What do you think about legalizing all drugs to reduce crime rate?
May as well. Have you seen some of the side effects for the legal stuff? Holy shit.
I would decriminalise drugs, to take the profit out of the supply of illegal drugs. Criminal empires would collapse overnight. Decriminalise use and minor possession. Require that all users obtain a prescription, which must be supplied by a pharmacist. Sell the drugs dirt cheap. Overnight, 90 per cent (plus) of crime would disappear. A personal side benefit for me would be that I would be able to obtain effective pain relief for my migraine headaches. :-) At the same time, I would implement a massive on-going public relations campaign to create in the mind of the public the image that drug users were losers with whom nobody wanted to associate. Those who began to use, or continued to use, under those conditions can overdose and die, as far as I am concerned. They are of no value to society. Indeed, society is better off without them.
Sex, when done right, generally doesn't cause health and mental problems.
I'm all for legalizing prostitution. Easiest income ever!
im against it.. i hate all of it... women get a pass because of Vagina... fuck that.
This is a good point, like women could get benefits from this anyway.
I agree but it ought to be regulated and required to pay taxes and submit to health inspections.
Well it really depends both sides are oppressors.
Lol this makes no sense since there is in fact also male prostitution
Most male prostitutes service men - especially men in the closet.
@Belgie "most" not all
Why does the fact that there are male prostitutes mean it's nonsense?
@JuicyBrain "Prostitution increases the supply of "pussy" to the market, and therefore lowers the unit value. It's exactly the same reason that women slut shame other women, anything that gives men easy access to sex means the leverage they hold is diminished." "In other words, they sell "pussy" a la carte, whereas most women are trying to get you to buy a package deal, which is a Long Term Relationship with all kinds of stuff in there that some men simply don't want or need. If men can just buy the sex, women won't be able to sell the rest of the package to gain their profit. Women don't like men having choice because, generally speaking, in the SMV the choice is zero-sum; what one gender gains, the other loses." Only talks about prostitution like it's only woman who are prostituts. Like the definition of prostitution equals woman selling "pussy". Clearly not true because men can't sell "pussy" the sell "penis"
Well, obviously, he is talking about *female* prostitution. The fact that he doesn't mention male prostitution means nothing.
@JuicyBrain yeah I figured that would be your answer pretty weak if you ask me
@Belgie That is probably true but just think at one time in the U. S. homosexuality was illegal. Now they can get married and what they do in their own home was okay for many years but its still not legal to pay a girl for sex even in your own home. Whats wrong with this picture? :) I can tip a waitress for serving me food but I can't tip a girl for giving me a blow job. How absurd is this!
Bright one, I feel sorry for you because you seem to be surrounded with money loving bitches. If you ask me women manipulating men with sex is extremely low kind of behavior. Why the hell do they do that, I cannot wrap my head around it. It is extremely selfish, and obviously there is no love for her man. What kind of relationship is this? How can they live with themselves? All that for money only, really?
Same goes for married men who go to prostitutes. Why are they even in relationship? Unless they are one of those who wants to have sex with multiple partners, and their partner as well shares the view..
I am for legal prostitution because it may protect workers in the prostitution industry. There will always be demand for this kind of job, so if it is illegal we just support trafficking and abuse. However I would put it off the streets, only inside of the brothel/strip clubs. Children walk around and that is one shady part of society that should stay behind closed doors only among ones who participate.
Anyway, I wonder where are you from and how come you are surrounded by such shallow people? I assume you are rich or hanging out with richies but I may be wrong
Also, you are really wrong to say this: ''most women in modern feminized countries think that all they need to bring to a relationship is sex''. Women from modern feminized country are strong and they do not need the men. They are educated and they value themselves more than just sex objects. Iceland is one such example and other Nordic, Central European countries, etc. as well. However I believe USA is not as feminist as they think they are. Or maybe the people are too much into money there I don't know.. which makes them shallow (men and women)
You should read "The Manipulated Man" by Esther Vilar. It isn't all about money when it comes to relationships.
The reason that married men use prostitutes is that the law makes it financially catastrophic for men to divorce their frigid wives. In the Family Court, the man will likely lose everything and then be kept in poverty for the rest of his life by count mandated child support and spousal support payments. This is one of the reasons why a significant and increasing number of men take the decision to walk away from having anything to do with women. Any form of intimate interaction with women carries with it a 50 per cent probability of utter destruction, followed by a lifetime of poverty and enslavement. That is just marriage, or a live-in relationship. There is also the increasing risk of sexual harassment allegations (asking a woman out) and false rape allegations. Or, the man can stay home, watch porn, jerk off, perhaps use a prostitute when he feels the need and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. For a significant and increasing number of men, the decision is not difficult.
Prostitution should not be in any closet just as homosexuality once was and you should teach your children about prostitutes just as you have to teach them about homosexuality and they'll grow up more mature and knowledgeable about sex in general. Its the churches that are teaching children and adults that these things are wrong and that we should shelter our children from these evil practices and thats the problem. Teach your children all there is to know about sex when they are in kindergarten. Sex is not evil! Eve didn't eat an apple because some snake talked to her and this somehow caused sex to become a sin. That story came from Egyptian Mythology but the churches won't admit it. My parents didn't teach me anything about sex so I had to learn it from my peers when I was about nine y/o.
Don't forget how legalizing prostitution would destroy feminism too. Feminist bitches couldn't complain anymore, because no guy would bother to try and be with them. Even now, while women have total control of sex, feminists are the most undesirable kind of girls. Legalizing prostitution and giving men sexual choice would destroy them, since the only reason women have been allowed to be THAT annoying is because guys need sex.
Dude, we get it; you hate women. Just get a blow up doll or a sex robot instead. It's a better long-term investment AND you'll be spared from having to actually interact with a real, human woman at all.
how does he hate women? please, give us even one reason that makes any sense instead of this ridiculous attempt at shaming him
@pavlove She's completely right. His POV isn't about the real world at all.
I love women and I agree with what he says. The fact that I love women doesn't mean I think women are perfect. You are flawed just as we are. Why is it that loving women should make me blind to your flaws? Please, tell us what is it that he said that makes you think he simply hates women.
@SovereignessofVamps Because if it were... it'd shake your preconceptions quite a bit. So it mustn't, it can't be. It's not! :)
Just ignore them anon chick, we both know that on average guys want so much more than prostitute sex in their lives.
When women do not have facts upon which to base an argument, they go straight to an ad hominem attack.
@SovereignessofVamps I disagree. The view of @the_bright_one is based 100 per cent on the real world. He and I have seen the same thing going on around us (and sometimes to us) or years.
@cth96190 Most guys/ppl don't need to pay for sex. He's totally wrong.
@SovereignessofVamps
I have interviewed prostitutes and brothel owners who all told me the same thing, when I asked them who their customers were.
They said that most of the customers were married men, who were not getting anything at home. They said that these men used prostitutes because of the financially catastrophic consequences of divorce.
"If wives and girlfriends took care of business at home, I would be out of business," was a common statement.
A minor number of customers were said to be socially awkward men who could not find a girlfriend and some were young men who wanted to find out what sex was like, but did not have/could not find a girlfriend.
Women have a distorted view of how easy it is to find sex, because it is way easier for a woman to get laid, if that is what she wants. For men, most of us have to do a hell of a lot of work.
The group Dr Hook expressed the situation well in this song:

@SovereignessofVamps funny how you still haven't said one thing that remotely suggests that he hates women. him not being realistic has NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT HE HATES WOMEN!
@cth96190 That could be true, but lots of married guys will fuck other married women, then no one can tell the truth. They'll have sidechicks. Most men don't need to use prostitutes.
@pavlove I AGREE 100 %!
@pavlove Do you not have a working pair of f*cking eyeballs? Not only does he make the assumption that most modern women use sex in order to manipulate men into giving them want they want but he also essentially blames women for why men cheat on them (with prostitutes no less). Because, obviously, they're making their boyfriends' miserable on purpose. There's no possibility whatsoever that maybe his girlfriend's just tired/working a lot lately, or going through some shit, like depression, or maybe she's on some new type of medication that lowers her libido, or maybe her boyfriend hasn't been treating her very well lately so she feels too emotionally distant to have sex, or maybe she just had some kind of serious injury and can't have sex for a while, or maybe her partner has unreasonable expectations and thinks she should meet his every sexual need. This guy literally has 0 empathy for the female perspective. Defend him all you want but let's not play dumb here.
@Anon chick, the guys commenting know what mytakeowner said. They just like his ideas lol But they know it's wrong.
I think they just want to argue to trigger people to respond, to be angry and all that. That's why even though I got so many downvotes on my opinion from guys, no guys really responded to my logical points. Or yours. Because they don't care, they just want to vent. It's hard to tell on the Internet right? But I realized that especially on this site for some reason, that's how lots of people are.
I think they disapprove of forced prostitution mostly. Your reasons against prostitution apply to both men and women who are against it. But your whole world view is the problem, and you aren't alone! And it is toxic to things like prostitution. I have a feeling your thoughts on love marriage and monogamy are similarly toxic, it just isn't the way you should think about other people...
"The oldest profession but also the oldest oppression."
Just FYI, in case there is anyone left who hasn't figured it out yet, the "guy" who posted the above quote here is actually a woman who has been posing as a man on GAG for several years. I'm surprise she continues to get away with it.
Anyway, nice take. I agree with most of what you wrote. It's certainly true that women who dislike prostitution and porn feel that way because it reduces their value. Put another way, it reduces their power over men. That is especially true of pornography since most men watch it today. It's a sexual outlet that is free and easily available. No woman necessary, and consequently, no money necessary.
It's all good.
