Yeah I really 100% prefer guys moaning freely, because I generally don't like guys who can't express their emotions and sensations (in general, so I also don't like it in bed). About the why some guys don't, I think because of 2 reasons:
1) Most of guys are taught to repress their emotions and inner self for all their life, to appear always unmoved about everything, strong etc. "Men don't cry" and blabla. This makes guys generally emotionally repressed and it shows in bed as well... So maybe even when they probably would like to express something, they have not even matured the tools to do it, or to feel comfortable with that...
2) When you feel strong sexual pleasure you're not necessarily driven to moan or to breath hard, you can totally have orgasms in silence, so this makes this expression optional... But for sure if you can "let it go" it intensifies the pleasure and the freedom and breathing hard makes your oxygenation weird which could increase the pleasure as well. So it's not even always made just to please the partner, it might be just liberatory to do for the person itself. However most of people are not used to moan when having orgasms, like the other guy said here... So it might be not spontaneous.
