For a LOT of guys, ANY suggestion in ANY form that their dick size isn't big enough is a "nuclear option" - there is absolutely NO way to recover from it, ever. Essentially, you're telling the guy that he's not good enough and will NEVER be good enough, and it's not something he can fix or have any control over, so if he feels like he's never going to satisfy you, then he's got no reason to bother with you anymore. And that's ASIDE from the very hurt feelings he likely has - his logic alone says "I'm done with this one forever."
As much as you might think this is an unreasonable comparison, and in some respects it is, in other respects, it isn't: telling a guy (or letting him overhear you, or whatever) that his dick size isn't big enough for you is, for a guy, around the same level of unforgivable offense as a guy raping a girl. Guys have committed suicide from hearing words to that effect, and they've also murdered people over it. I'm not sure there's anything verbal that's equal in a woman's world, but imagine you'd been training to be a professional dancer or musician or painter or singer since you were 4 years old, working hours every day, and then you hear a guy talking about how terrible you are at this thing that you've devoted your life to - OH, AND you're ugly - and maybe you'd be in the ballpark of what a guy is going to feel.
That's not to say that all guys are this sensitive about it - many are not - but I'd say easily over half of all men would consider this a "nuclear event" that they'd NEVER be able to get past.
