Copulin is female pheromone. Pheromone created by bacteria that live in the vagina, which are part of the vaginal flora. The greatest secretion of copulin occurs during ovulation, when the probability of conception is most likely. Copulin is secreted through cycle with a peak during ovulation. Research since the mid to late 90s has proven that copulin can affect male’s brain. They have been shown to increase testosterone levels in men by 150 % (Astrid Jutte study) . This increase in testosterone may cause feelings of arousal in men if a woman is present. It is said that once a man smells copulins on a woman she becomes more attractive than it really is.

Today, only a third of women have copulins. Birth control pills, washing vagina with strong soaps and too strong use of antibiotics kill bacteria that produce copulins.

There was this gal I knew in the AS spectrum counseling program in 2013. She was 6 years older than myself. By mere face value, she didn't look all that special. But before I found out she had a boyfriend, trying to resist her charm was like a moth trying to avoid a flame. Interesting. I never knew specifically what it was a result of, but did see some patterns in both my boyfriend also being way hornier when I was ovulating, as well as my seeming to get ogled even more than usual while at the gym around the day I'm due to ovulate. Copulins would confirm my suspicions... nice take. :)

You know a few years ago there was a book coming out here in germany (haven't read it, just heard about it) where the author said she doesn't wash down there much and then... well smears the secretions from down there behind her ears and she claims it makes men go crazy.

What do the bacteria do in the vagina and how has this been positive, since men love it so much. Is there a positive link between these bacteria and reproduction.

And are pheromones or these copulins stronger regarding male reaction.

Also, do only birth control pills kill these bacteria or all forms. Ex) would a woman who is tricking her body into thinking she is pregnant, using spermicide, or increasing cervical mucus viscosity?

  First, each vagina has a bacteria. This is called vaginal flora. The catch 22 is to have good bacteria in vagina.

  Ah, ok. I knew pheromones to be chemical produced by the organism and transmitted into the environment. But I did already know about having good microorganisms in the vagina. However, I didn't know they produced stimulating compounds. That's very interesting.

  Don't worry, its more important to take your birth control pills and not get pregnant (or deal with other things that could be the reason you're taking them) than to increase "arousal" in males. I would like to see actual scientific evidence of how large this increase is also. Could be insignificant.

It's like, "Hey we got THREE HOURS without the kids!" this might be right after she got out of the gym and she's all sweaty - so she's going to want a shower and frankly, I want her to shower too, if she's been in the gym... or doing some dirty work. Or maybe she hasn't showered since the previous morning... so, you gotta be reasonably clean.

I have never understood why people have things like FemFresh to intimately clean their vaginas. I'm lucky that my vagina is 100% organic and natural! No pills, no creams, no soaps and no perfumes. Just me. Men have always said I taste divine.
