  • It can happen, though is improbable, it isn't impossible. Anyway, I had evacuated for a hurricane for over a month with family and couldn't even jerk it. I was out in the middle of nowhere, and where I evacuated to is the path the storm wound up taking. When the roads re-opened and there was a route home I drove back swiftly.
    There was a girl I was a friends with that I'll optimistically call a 4(more likely a 3) who came on to me. She looked so beautiful during that dry spell. For me it was being with over a dozen family members in a small house with tons of drama and stress, then seeing a woman who wanted to sleep with me in a calm, quiet place with good drugs.
    I'm pretty sure that if I wouldn't have had a girlfriend the same would have happened after boot camp, as Marine Corps boot camp is a 3 month dry spell. I'm also pretty sure that if I didn't have a girlfriend though the face and body would have looked a little less ideal, there would have been less drama.

  • Ratings are subjective. There is no standardized metric for beauty. Everyone has different preferences.

    People aren't cookie cutters and shouldn't compare themselves to others. That's what leads to low self esteem.

    Health is the main thing that makes a person attractive or not. Obesity, bad skin, bad teeth, and poor hygiene are factors that typically make someone unattractive. Poor fashion choices and unattractive mannerism are also factors.

    But there is no accounting for taste, and things like personality, mannerisms and common values often weigh more heavily that physical appearance.

  • I’m not sure what those numbers mean. What I do know is that we need to stop lumping people into types or tribes. Why should someone perceived as attractive by societal standards be off limits to someone just considered “average” or below, when it comes to love, romance, marriage, or sex? It seems to me that love is really all that matters.

  • It's shallow to create a scale of attractiveness. Also, insanely subjective. Beside physical attraction, there are far, far more important things to consider.

  • Rating scales vary from person to person, as do assessments of specific people. I have on occasion dated women who on my stricter-than-most scale are 8's and I am a solid 5 on that same scale, so it does happen.
