Would it be weird to as a male friend for their sperm?

I know there are risks to asking a question like this but I want to know how it would possibly make them feel before I even decide if I want to ask.

Yes, there are MASSIVE risks to doing this. If a woman impregnates herself with a man's sperm, she can sue him for child support and SHE WILL WIN. And if that woman ever needs government assistance, she will have to name the father, and 100% of the time, no matter what she might have agreed to before, she'll give up the name of the sperm donor and he'll be on the hook for child support until that child is 18. HOW she got pregnant will be irrelevant to the court, whose only priority is the "best interests of the child."

The ONLY way to break this chain of responsibility legally is via a sperm bank, where donors are anonymous to the recipient.

Now, I can't speak to what you intend to do with this sperm, but I STRONGLY urge men to think about the worst-case scenario here, because things like that actually happen to real men every day.

I was actually asked by a close friend if I would be a sperm donor, the old fashioned way too. She entirely absolved me of any duties as soon as she conceived, she just wanted a baby desperately. I was pretty much ready to do it, but then both hers and my relationship statuses changed, and through that she has ended up with a son, so it all worked out OK in the end.

I think both are out of the ordinary. I think if you have a really good friend who knows you and your partner, it's unusual but not weird.

I think if you're looking for a sexual relationship, it's weird and it would complicate your friendship.

If it's for pregnancy purposes then no. I've had the "donate sperm" talk with a few of my male friends. They weren't freaked out. I still just think I'm gonna use a sperm bank tho.

It depends why you want it. If you want to get pregnant with it you should have your doctor oversee the process if you don't want him to impregnate you the old fashioned way.
