Probably not. There are normally so many drawbacks that it usually doesn't make any sense. There are some single moms who aren't in dysfunctional situations, but even their situations are more difficult than a comparable childless woman's. And my mom was a single mom from the time I was three (she was one of the ones that had her stuff together and wasn't dysfunctional), so I know what it's like.
-You are expected to fit into their chaos -Their kid (s) are a lot of work, and their aren't even yours -They usually have financial problems -Dating and having private moments together are much harder, especially if the father is not a part of the child (ren)'s life and there isn't family nearby to babysit.
