Would you consider blowjob as sex?

Like, if a girl is virgin but she had given blowjob to 7 guys, would you consider her virgin or a girl with body count of 7?

I'm asking this because someone on reddit posted that his wife told him she only slept with 2 guys before marriage but later he came to know that she also gave blowjob to lots of guys when she was in college. And this guy on reddit is considering those blowjob as actual sex.

What do you guys think?

  • Sex is sex. Blow me any way. I call it sex. It's more of technicality issue. Girls or guys should not share extreme details of the past. They almost always coz trouble. What matters most is you stay faithful. Once in relationship. Now the problem is more the experience you have more you are likely to compare between lovers. Let's call them lovers. Or temp. intimacy partner. Or more of One time deals.

    • Totally agreed. Future is always more important than past.

    • Present is more important dear. That's your call though. Thank you for MHO.

  • When it comes to sexual history, don't ask, don't tell.

  • She's still a virgin, but she's playing brinksmanship with her morality. I would not like this person.

The Reddit guy described a situation not about defining virginity, but about sexual experience in general.
His girlfriend is careful and selective enough to not have intercourse with many guys, but he is entitled to know that she has done however many blowjobs. It's all one form of sex or another. She might be trying to prevent pregnancy. Or she might be trying to preserve some sense of innocence. The rationale behind it matters.

  • oral sex is sex... it's an intimate act and personal... say you were walking down the street and you see a guy's cum you swallowed a year ago do you think you'd remember that?

  • I link virginity to penetrative sex, so I'd still consider her a Virginia even if she's given blow jobs.

    • *virgin

  • You can define sex in whatever way suits your purpose. So. . . anal sex isn't really sex, and hand jobs aren't really sex, and blow jobs aren't really sex, so when you did all of those things with the guy at the office, you really weren't cheating on your boyfriend. . . . But if you found out that your boyfriend was doing 69 with his ex and fucking her in the ass, would you say to yourself, "At least he isn't cheating on me!"?

You can also define "virgin" to suit your purpose. Virgin means never had PIV sex, so. . . a girl who is lesbian and has been fingering, oral sex, tribbing, double dildoing her girlfriend for years is still a virgin? Or virgin means your hymen is intact, so the girl who had the accident in gym in 7th grade is not virgin but a slut who gets her hymen surgically restored is a virgin.

For most of us, sex means something that two people do together that is intended to cause sexual arousal and perhaps also an orgasm. If you let a guy finger you, that's sex. Think it isn't? How many 17 year old girls will ask their father, "Daddy, is it okay if we go up to my room and Brandon fingers me, 'cause it's not like it's really sex?"

And for most of us, virgin implies a girl who is innocent about sexual matters. The village blow job queen is not a virgin even if she has never had PIV sex.

  • 'Virginity' IS a lack of VAGINAL penetration; NOT oral, anal or manual sex play.

You ARE technically STILL a 'virgin' until you engage in vaginal / penile copulation...
with... or without your hymen intact.

Less Christian-corrupted Micronesian & Hawaiian cultures condone pre-teen
sexual interplay as early as age 7 EXCEPT FOR penile vaginal copulation~

  • It's a type of sex. Personally I don't count it as oh you been with this many people just because you gave them head I count vaginal sex over anything.

  • Catholic girls have been using blowjobs to keep their virginity forever

  • No, not for me.

    • Oh really

  • Meh, ... yes and no, ... but not really.

  • I would consider her body count to be 7 and I would dismiss her as a potential partner.
Promiscuity on technicalities doesn't count, it's promiscuity.

  • It can be if she knows what she is doing.

  • Blowjobs are a sexual act, while not regular intercourse they are still penetrative and sex in general.. that's why they call it oral sex

  • I think Bill Clinton is an expert on this.

  • its a sexual act but it is not sex

  • I consider a blow job as a sexual act, but not specifically as sex.

  • Would you consider a black dog to be a dog? I would. Similarly, oral sex is a kind of sex.

  • It is sex... oral SEX.

  • Virginity is pretty much a social construct that measures how chaste a woman is, and is a woman who performs felatio chaste? No.

So I'd say oral sex counts for 0.5 when compared to intercourse.

  • Um this is weird for me. Because I wanna say not because there is no penetration. But at the same time I would count anal as sex. On the other hand if someone has oral sex with someone else it would be cheating. So yeah I don't know.

  • Sex, but just not sexual intercourse, penis in vagina variety
