  • Mansion. There are so many reasons to not live in a penthouse. Hard to get stuff up there, less safe, hard to escape in an emergency, no real privacy cause you live with hundreds of other people below you in the same building, less privacy due to the open windows, etc.

And I'd also just choose to live in a mansion based on these two options. If I had all the money in the world, I'd live in a lake house or near the beach. (Just far away or high enough to avoid floods.)

  • I have a few fairly small condo units in skyscrapers but they're not penthouses. They are all 50+ floors up though. I don't like living in highly-congested areas. I bought them as investments. So, I've leased them out.

Meanwhile, my houses aren't mansion-sized but they're both pretty large and each situated inside 20,000+ square feet elevated lots. One house is leased out. I live in the other.

I enjoy wide open spaces. I can't get that feeling in my high-rise condos.

  • Not to flex or anything, but after living in a penthouse, I’d definitely choose a mansion. Especially for when I have a family.

  • I have ZERO interest in living in a big city. I'd prefer a large piece of land with a modest house on it - I want to be LEFT ALONE aside from those I invite into my life. The last thing I want is a ton of people living within a few yards of me.

Just look at what NYC has become.

  • I need space to run around. Whichever gives me that 😊

    • I’m happy with a very large room and space outside... I don’t need a bunch of rooms and structures. it’s extra in my opinion 😊

  • I'll go with a mansion. Don't have to deal with loud neighbors, and I probably don't have to worry about getting low on space. Also I can have master control over my heating and plumbing and internet etc. Also the whole mansion would have my own chosen style, interior AND exterior. Also avoids the 2 minutes it takes to go inside, ride the elevator all the way up, and walk to the penthouse. Oh yeah and downtown traffic.

  • A mansion would be the least objectionable of the choices made available.
A cabin on a river would be my ideal abode.

  • I prefer breadth for strolls and such. No matter how fascinating the scene, ifmitmnever changes it will get old. So A, unless B has a glass ceiling or something and it's not in a major city so the night sky is visible.

  • Penthouse :)
